Luke Beasley: No wonder they lost, with insufferable arrogance rudely exposed "…Gavin McInnes…" in a raging closed-minded outburst makes rational fact-based discourse impossible.
Proud Boys Founder Gavin McInnes LOST IT at Me, CRASHED OUT as Republicans got CRUSHED on election night.

Any reasonable person, voter, must NEVER forget this. Robodebt and the cruelty of the Liberals are the DNA of the Libs. And it never changes.
OH, ROBODEBT. REMEMBER ALAN TUDGE? The image below is from a September 2018 article by none other than whoopee cushion Rachel Baxendale in The Australian, reporting the glowing assessment of Scott Morrison offered by that enthusiastic Liberal sycophant, Alan Tudge. According to dear Alan, Morrison was: “Decisive”, “consultative” and “authentic”. CONSULTATIVE? AUTHENTIC? This is the very same Scott Morrison who secretly appointed himself to multiple ministerial portfolios without even informing some of the ministers whose responsibilities he was sharing. Alan, darling, that's not consultation. That's practically the fucking opposite. But let's remind ourselves of ALAN TUDGE, the former Human Services Minister who famously declared on national television (and yes, we have the clip): “We'll find you, we'll track you down and you will have to repay those debts and you may end up in prison.” Tudge later insisted those remarks referred to deliberate welfare fraud, rather than ordinary Robodebt recipients. Nevertheless, what subsequently emerged from the ROBODEBT ROYAL COMMISSION was considerably more disturbing than a television soundbite. And Alan, rather like his Liberal–National colleague Barnaby Joyce, also had a documented enthusiasm for dipping his pen in the company ink. Tudge admitted to an affair with his married media adviser, Rachelle Miller, while he too was married. But back to Robodebt. THE ROYAL COMMISSION FOUND THAT BY JULY 2017, TUDGE KNEW AT LEAST TWO PEOPLE HAD DIED BY SUICIDE, AND THAT THEIR FAMILIES HAD IDENTIFIED ROBODEBT AS A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR. Yet he failed to undertake a comprehensive review of the scheme or consider whether its effects on vulnerable welfare recipients were so harmful that it should be stopped. Let that sink in. A minister publicly warning people they could end up in prison, while failing to adequately investigate a scheme that was causing profound distress. And where is dear Alan now? Having resigned from Parliament in February 2023, citing family and personal circumstances, HE HAS RESURFACED AT THE MENZIES RESEARCH CENTRE, a Liberal-aligned policy think tank. Yes. A research fellow. (Code for 'warm a seat' thanks for doing our bidding) How wonderfully comfortable. The Royal Commission also found that Tudge's use of welfare recipients' information in the media to discourage criticism of Robodebt represented an abuse of ministerial power. He rejected that finding. But the Commission's findings remain on the public record. LEST WE FORGET ROBODEBT. And lest we forget the extraordinary contrast between the Morrison government's carefully cultivated public image and the conduct subsequently exposed by a Royal Commission. VICTORIA — DO NOT FORGET THIS CHAPTER OF AUSTRALIA'S POLITICAL HISTORY. Because the archives have a rather inconvenient habit of remembering what politicians would prefer everyone else to forget.

As an australian this man continues to impress me more and more. Just hope our government listens and takes notes.
El-Sayed: "People don't trust our party because too often we're funded by the very same people who fund Republicans... Can we actually cut the cord that we've had to corporate money and start governing like we give a damn about working people?"

Executive orders are reversible from day one under a new president. It's a completely pointless exercise.
This really just happened. Trump signed an executive order saying no one in the future can make major modifications to the Oval Office or Cabinet Room without Congressional Approval. This comes after he literally tore apart an entire wing of the White House without Congressional approval.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Trump signed a proclamation (not an executive order) designating the Oval Office and Cabinet Room a national monument. The text does not require congressional approval for modifications and explicitly allows presidents to redecorate. whitehouse.gov/presidential-a… apnews.com/article/trump-…

Robodebt was a harmful government scheme. It cost lives and harmed hundreds of thousands of Australians through its unlawful use of automated decision-making (ADM). It’s hard to believe, but the Albanese Government hasn’t learnt the lessons of Robodebt. For over a year the government has used unfair ADM in aged care assessments, generating huge community concern, a scathing review from the Commonwealth Ombudsman, and sustained pressure from the crossbench. Now the government is proposing use of another largely untested ADM tool, the I-CAN automated assessment, to inform calculations of NDIS support. I recently seconded Kate Chaney’s Bill to establish a new framework for the use of ADM in government. We must ensure that chasing cost-efficiency doesn’t compromise responsibility and care. theguardian.com/australia-ne…

It seems not. Regardless of what could well become WW3 most of our politicians are putting us on the front line for the usa with military bases they control. Our populations, suburbs, industry, agriculture likely to be struck by powerful weapons launched by usa’s many enemies.

The big factor for the 2028 Queensland election is if the media can deliver fair & well-balanced coverage of all of the state's issues without again getting bogged in the quagmire of the LNP's slogans & small-target politics. #qldpol abc.net.au/news/2026-11-07/q…

I live in this weird liminal space where I’m not allowed in media spaces because I’m married to an elected Dem and worked on campaigns, and I’m not allowed in Dem spaces because I’m media that doesn’t shill for Dems and instead holds them accountable. It’s incredibly strange.

The People's Emergency Briefing gave us a great starting point. We shared what we learned and how we felt, and practised inviting churches, employers, community groups and councils to host screenings. 2/5 #PEBuk

🔥The election opened up our country to new possibilities; how will we address them? 1. We demand climate action NOW, while new leaders seek their footholds & determine priorities. 2. We show them it’s not negotiable. 🌱RSVP xrboston.org/action/november…
