Our open letter to BDG's Board of Directors: union busting is bad for business.
We write to you as board members of BDG who represent the largest investors in our company in order to call your attention to the unfair, counterproductive and illegal behavior of company management that is endangering your investment and our livelihoods. As you know, due to longstanding issues of sexism, high turnover and poor working conditions at BDG, we, the employees of the company, voted to unionize in 2020. Since that time, management has slow walked negotiations, drawing them out for over 2 years. We have endured multiple rounds of layoffs and even more talented employees have left the company because of the low pay and poor working conditions. Management has even violated labor law through illegal retaliation by locking employees out of their work for legally protected actions and firing employees in violation of labor law. Our union has filed charges with the National Labor Relations Board against the company over these actions. (Continued in thread)
