I’m so Grateful to have had the opportunity to lead a group of young men where I was raised. I want to thank my fellow coaches who were extremely loyal to the cause. When we came in, we had very, very little. Now, because of the support from our alumni, our players and future players have what is needed to get better. Uniforms and gear to feel and look like a baseball team..& most Important, belief that they can get better if they work hard and show up everyday. Even those days that were hard to show up, WE DID!
I’m most proud of how we packed over 2000 vehicles full of food at a local church these past two years. Having a relationship with the church was very special and I hope it continues. I also hope that the community and school will embrace BASEBALL, the greatest sport ever created. With that said I must move on. My work is done and i look forward to the next challenge. Forever a Penn Hills INDIAN.👊🏼⚾️

Baseball is not an equal opportunity sport. The best players play. Want more playing time? Get better.
Consistently barrel balls up in practice/scrimmages, improve your defense/arm strength, increase your strike throwing percentage with two quality pitches. Become the best choice.

Team Pittsburgh wins pitching dual. Bryce Madden earns the save to give his team the championship!
You know what I can’t stand? Reading a personal spat between media people and acting like 7th grade girls. What gives? If you were real men, you’d talk it out man to man. These media people think we give a shit about their bullshit. Get a life. Grow a pair and be men about it.
Is Pat Murphy is bringing “coach” back to professional baseball?
Pat Murphy says he still wasn’t a good coach even after winning at Notre Dame and going to the College World Series at Arizona State because he was still making it about him instead of the players
“You know, when you get to a spot in life when you’re a little bit older, you start to make it not about you. When I dropped my ego, which took a while, I wasn’t a good coach at Notre Dame. Even though we were winning games, I still wasn’t good. I didn’t know baseball, for one, and it was about me a little bit at the end.”
“I started the right way. I loved Notre Dame, and I didn’t want to embarrass the university. I was working for $7,000 a year. I just wanted to be good and not embarrass them. We had a lot of success, but then it became about me.”
“And then I got to ASU, and it became about me again. We won a lot and went to the World Series a lot, but I just wasn’t good. It took getting knocked on my ass a little bit. I had that NCAA thing, which was total bull, but it woke me up. My kids made a difference in my life, and you start to realize it ain’t about you. Honestly, it’s not about me.”
“And whenever I started focusing on that, we came into last year and everything wrong happens. We trade Corbin. Woody’s out for the year. Devin’s out. We cut the budget $30 million. We’re going to suck. And again, I just kept saying, ‘It’s not about me. Make it about that young energy.’ And we had these young guys go out and make me look good. Hungry players, you remember when you guys were hungry in your career? Hungry players make the manager look good.”
“And that’s exactly what happened. Now I got the credit for it. I’m still under construction. I’m not great. There are so many areas I suck in. But then you’re trying to find staff members to help you, trying to realize what you suck at.”
“But the most important thing is love the player. When you really find the good in that dude, that’s it. The guy that’s hardest to love needs love the most. I’m at a point in life where it’s about them. And if you keep it about them…”

“And you’re coming to Pittsburgh, big mistake.”
October 28, 1979
The Steelers and Cowboys — bitter interconference archrivals and 1970s superpowers — meet in a grudge match at Three Rivers.
Pittsburgh prevails in a hard-hitting rematch of the previous year's Super Bowl, 14-3.
In the fourth quarter, Steelers defensive end L.C. Greenwood delivers a devastating hit that knocks Dallas quarterback Roger Staubach out of the game.
It is Staubach's second major concussion in ten months, and though he would not miss a start, this hit effectively signals the beginning of the end of his NFL career.
He would retire five months later.
Fantanu handled this guy last time . . I expect Troy to come back after a sub-par performance in France. I like the juice though. See you at 1 o’clock. Pittsburgh will be ready.

The biggest transformation in my coaching career came when I started telling my players I loved them. Some of them looked at me like I was crazy.
This kid ain’t afraid to do hard thing. Hitting righty when he’s a natural lefty is hard. We recently saw a Sidney Crosby interview where he says, “ I work on the things I need to get better at in the off season.” It’s a great message for all of us. #switchHITTER
Steven Kwan playing some of the best left field I’ve seen in a long time. Big time plays by the gold glover!
Hey @elonmusk
How about taking down the video of the service man falling to his death in a pregame show. I don’t want to see it and I’m sure his family doesn’t either. God Bless him and his family. Terrible
