Happy 76th bday to the best groundskeeper a HC could ask for. He doesn't know what Twitter is but, it's the thought that counts. ❤️ you Dad

Brayden Carby's 2-yard touchdown runs wins it in overtime for Bullitt East - 41-38 over Male. Chargers get first district title since state title season of 2022.

What Hershiser did in the second half of 1988 is one of the great sustained runs any pitcher has put together in a single season.
He closed the regular year with 59 consecutive scoreless innings, breaking a record Don Drysdale had set twenty years earlier, and then he won the Championship Series MVP and the World Series MVP in the same October. Doing all three inside one autumn is absurd.
The Dodgers were heavy underdogs against Oakland and he shut that lineup down, which is the part I keep coming back to.
The scoreless streak was a regular season feat. Beating that team was the harder job. Top five over a whole career is a stretch given the sample.
For one October, nobody has been better.
Was Hershiser's 1988 October the best ever?

On this day in Dodgers history:
October 22, 1974
Steve Garvey was named National League MVP after a breakout season that helped lead the Dodgers to the World Series.
He hit .312 with 21 HRs and 111 RBIs, establishing himself as one of the faces of the franchise.
A true Dodgers legend!

One of the hardest lessons baseball ever taught me had nothing to do with baseball.
You can do everything right and still lose.
You can work harder than everyone around you and still get passed over.
You can give everything you have to something and still watch it fall apart.
That's baseball. That's life.
But here's what I've learned...
The work is never wasted.
Even when the outcome isn't what you wanted, the person you became while chasing it is something nobody can take from you.
Keep showing up. 👊

Ask a former baseball player what he misses.
You’ll hear about the dugout. Batting practice. The bus rides. The guys.
Very few mention their batting average.
Funny how the numbers feel like everything when you’re playing, and the people become everything when you’re done.

The college baseball recruiting calendar just changed.
D1: Quiet period. No off-campus evaluations or in-person contact.
D2: Recruiting continues, outside designated dead periods.
D3: No NCAA-designated quiet or dead periods.
My advice? Attend camps, visit schools, and build relationships.
But prioritize DEVELOPMENT.
Get stronger. Faster. More skilled. Become a better student. Build better habits.
Be better on March 1 than you are today. In every way.
Give coaches a reason to see you differently this spring.
