It’s illegal for Uber & Lyft to pickup at SFO’s arrivals level, so they pickup at departures. This has made congestion so bad, there’s now a sign encouraging drop-offs to go to arrivals. So now departures go to arrivals & arrivals go to departures because tech fixes everything.

Nathan: Do you see why this is funny? Elizabeth: He’s wearing a hot dog costume? Nathan: Yeah, he is. But what about his feigned innocence at not being the one who drove the hot dog car through the wall? Elizabeth: Well…he’s saying he didn’t do that.

Great, great data. I also a hunch that having 3 kids was becoming a new status symbol for the 1% in the 2020s. Not quite. It's more that 3-kid families among every other non-rich percentile has declined by double-digit percentage points while the 1% held steady. So having 3 kids went from being fairly common across the board to a luxury good that, increasingly, only the 1% can afford.
Replying to @mtkonczal
Is this a new status symbol? I don't think so. It looks more like children fall for all families except the 1% over the past 30 years. Maybe the things that made children more difficult for the 99% just bounced right off the 1%? /2

Nathan Fielder says critics don’t understand acting after The New York Times calls him a “limited stiff actor.” 🤣 “They don’t seem to get that when they call me ‘limited range’ and ‘stiff,’ that’s the character. They don’t get that I’m playing a stiff, nerdy guy, which is very different than the real me.” “In real life, I’m very relaxed.” 😭

Reporter: Do any of you have a favorite animal? Child: My favorite one is a gold snake that can move. It has gold eyes, and it has a super-duper tail… Reporter: Mr. Mamdani, the second question for you. Mamdani: Yes. It’s also the golden snake.

Literally every AI showcase is blatantly ripping off something better
AI is the future of gaming, building infinite worlds as you play.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Misleading: this is an AI-generated VIDEO, not a game. There is no evidence to suggest this video was generated as part of a real game; the phrasing of the original source makes this clear. Source: x.com/HAL2400AI/stat…

i don't understand this economy when nursing homes are so expensive they bankrupt our grandparents but nursing home aides need to use food banks. daycare is so expensive it eats up one parent's entire paycheck and yet daycare providers only make $10/hr and need second jobs.

“At Dreamforce, the exploration of the possibilities of AI is incredible. At the same time, it's important that we understand that policies never move at the same speed as technology. So having a grasp over what is happening and how the negative aspects of AI don't proliferate in a big way, to minimize collateral damage is most important. I hope the companies and governments across the world wake up to this and ensure the best of AI possibilities will reach the people, as this is a phenomenal enabler for humanity like never before. -Sg”
