I personally just think being able to successfully execute and showcase a wide range of comedic styles in stand up, television & film makes you more skilled, and I think being skilled is a big part of comedy. This list is more of a “how dare y’all” list because how dare y’all 😭
Again yall would have a point if it isn’t documented that Eddie Murphy while being the biggest face in Hollywood was making movies with solely black casts. He didn’t sell out at any point lmao. So why tf would he care

Right and I don’t even think it’s about Bernie not being his peer. Eddie seemed genuinely surprised someone would rank Bernie so high and we shouldn’t think or feel any type of way about it tbh lol He probably would have felt the same if someone said Kevin Hart or Katt Williams

Context matters: Eddie has had the GREATEST comedic career ever, everyone in his era or younger, he’s gonna somewhat look down upon lol
His resume is hard to compete w/
The only ppl he’s gonna put above him are the ones before him…..Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor, & Redd Foxx
Nah this feels like when LL had to explain his MT Rushmore was different because his age. He looked up to Rakim/Slick Ricks. He didn’t look up to Jay-Z. Eddie is way before Bernie time of course he’s not on eddies MT Rushmore

I don't think he has anything against him. He's just not gonna put a dude who came out after him, and never got as big as him, above dudes he looked up to like Pryor and Redd Foxx. You gotta look at it through his eyes, and not the eyes of a fan. Bernie is not his peer.
