Hey Coaches,
Someday, someone else will have your job.
They’ll sit in your office, wear your gear, and lead the program you once called yours.
That’s not meant to diminish the importance of your work. It’s simply a reminder that we’re all replaceable professionally.
But there are roles in your life that nobody else can fill.
Your children only have one you. Your spouse only has one you.
Don’t become so consumed with being excellent in a role that someone else can eventually fill that you neglect the roles that only you can fulfill.
I’m all for pursuing excellence in your profession.
But just make sure you're bringing that same commitment to the roles that only you can fulfill.
Just found my first ever game coached in the Marriott Center: byutv.org/1b9d5a44-1f09-4323…
We competed @ACUHoops! #4 team in NAIA, tied 44-44 at half. @BYUMBB was just too much in the second half.
It's crazy how life comes full circle!
Maybe it's because its the team I grew up on being from Illinois, but I can turn any episode of The Last Dance on and get locked in and motivated at any time - like I've never seen it before!

AJ Dybantsa won’t just be playing in the NBA season - he’s taking online classes at BYU because he promised his mom, Chelsea, that he’d get his degree.
AJ tells me he’s already started online classes and how he fits it all into his busy schedule:

#SDot 309!
This one hurts. Jimmy was an amazing person and a foundational piece of @GoStanford Athletics. The Cardinal and the world lost a great one. Rest in paradise Jimmy! Thank you for everything!
For 18 years there was never a night you could say someone played harder than @russwest44. However, his most respectable trait is that - without telling the world - he did so much for different communities off the court. Much respect for an amazing career and inspiring so many!
More than a game!
The WRIGHTWAY💙 , first camp was a success I appreciate everyone that came to support and helped make it a great day for the youth!! #302 @jaydoefilms
