Jack Grove speaks the truth about his investigation of Jason Arday for Times Higher Education, which never came to the fore because someone, presumably Arday, sent a fearsome defamation law firm after THE and his editors, spooked, spiked the story. Had this not happened, Grove would've broken the story and not the so-called race realist Nathan Cofnas. This would have undermined claims that the report was grounded in an invidious, racist motive. So who is to blame, really, for how the story did finally come to the fore? And was it not The Guardian and The New York Times that published some of the most damning findings that undermined Arday's credibility and demonstrated that he was a serial fabulist and that Cambridge lowered the bar for him?

Recognition from fellow journalists is much appreciated as this is undoubtedly a difficult and polarising story, with a tragic outcome. Many people still do not accept its legitimacy but it was an important public interest story which sparked public debate about key issues of our age timeshighereducation.com/opi…

The reason Jack Grove’s work is so remarkable is that he had the courage to look for the truth despite the harrassment he would receive from Arday, the police and the likes of Cadwalladr. I’m pleased that some journalists have the integrity to recognise this
Not a single news outlet has reviewed its coverage of Jason Arday, for accuracy or proportionality. Zero attempt has been made to conduct any inquiry into the media’s role in his death. Instead, the industry has moved into self-congratulatory mode. This isn’t just tone deaf, it betrays a systemic failure

I'm pleased to be on the advisory panel of the independent investigation into Dr Jason Arday’s appointment at Cambridge. All information will be treated in the strictest confidence. If you have relevant information, you can provide it here, anonymously if preferred. ardayinvestigation.net/panel…
The CAF-commissioned independent investigation into Cambridge University’s appointment of Jason Arday is now up and running, and needs the assistance of those who know Cambridge best. We strongly encourage current and former academics, students and other members of the University community, as well as others with relevant knowledge, to come forward with information. This might include policy documents, internal correspondence or first-hand accounts concerning Arday’s academic record, his appointment and subsequent time at Cambridge, the University’s response to concerns about his scholarship and its treatment of those who raised them, and the development and application of institutional policies relating to recruitment, promotion, academic misconduct, research integrity and equality, diversity and inclusion. Anyone wishing to contribute can contact the Investigator directly at: [email protected] The website provides further guidance on submitting information, including arrangements for particularly sensitive material: ardayinvestigation.net/ This is a rare opportunity to bring matters long discussed behind closed doors, amongst trusted colleagues, into the light. Those who have witnessed decisions or practices that they believe warrant scrutiny, but have hitherto felt unable to raise their concerns through official channels, can now contribute to an investigation independent of the University. Please help us spread the word and ensure this appeal reaches as many Cambridge academics and others with relevant knowledge as possible.

Dilettanten. Einfaltspinsel. Nachhintengucker…obendrein juristisch wertlos.

CAF has written to Cambridge’s Vice-Chancellor on behalf of several academics who fear professional repercussions if they raise concerns in their own names about a University-wide communication offering “support and advice” specifically to black members of staff. The communication came from five members of Cambridge’s “Senior Black Leaders Group”, including two Deputy Vice-Chancellors and college heads. That academics feel unable to raise concerns of this kind within their university without protecting their identities is something Cambridge’s senior leadership might wish to reflect upon. CAF therefore agreed to raise the matter on their behalf. In our letter, we ask Cambridge what that support comprised, whether access was afforded or facilitated on the same basis irrespective of race, and the legal and evidential basis for any difference. Reasonable take. Setting problems is of course closelz tied to the ability to solve them. It is also not clear to bem by any means whether these new possibilities will make science more democratic. Access to platforms and the time to think and formulate problems are not evenly distributed.
This is honestly shocking. Three months ago, Hong Wang was awarded the Fields Medal for resolving the Kakeya conjecture in three dimensions. Today, OpenAI released a proposed proof of the conjecture in ALL dimensions. And that’s not all. It also announced a proposed existence proof for quantum chromodynamics and a proposed refutation of the Exponential Time Hypothesis. Experts say that, if confirmed, these would be Nobel prize and Turing award level discoveries respectively. A journalist just asked me: “What remains for humans to do?” I think it’s becoming increasingly clear that more and more problem solving will be automated. But humans will remain crucial in determining the direction of discovery. Deciding which problems are worth solving. Because the value of a discovery depends on our needs, our priorities and the kind of world we want to build. There will be a shift from problem solving to problem setting. I also think there will be huge individual differences. People with strong critical thinking skills, creativity and imagination will be supercharged by AI. People without those skills risk surrendering to it. I’m particularly concerned for children, who may never develop these skills. I think epistemic literacy - how to distinguish information from knowledge - is the single most important skill we should be teaching.

🚨 BOMBSHELL COURT EVIDENCE REVEALS EXPLOSIVE COMMUNICATIONS ABOUT A CONCEALED INVESTIGATION INTO PROFESSOR DAVID M. SABATINI — BEFORE WHITEHEAD'S DIVERSITY SURVEY. 🔱 New revelation — Court-disclosed messages describe a plan to use Whitehead Institute's diversity survey to conceal an investigation already under consideration. The court evidence contains extraordinary contemporaneous communications involving Nora Kory, a former postdoctoral researcher in David Sabatini’s laboratory at Whitehead Institute, Kristin Knouse, and references to Whitehead Institute Director Ruth Lehmann. THE PARTICIPANTS' OWN WORDS ARE STUNNING. Nora Kory stated: 🔴 “Although we know the diversity survey was just a cover up and it was planned long before...” Knouse responded that Ruth Lehmann: 🔴 “was a little loose lipped early on…” In another exchange, Kory described her discussion with Lehmann: 🔴 “we came up with the idea of ‘covering the investigation up’ with the diversity survey” Knouse replied: 🔴 “Yea I mean this supports the notion that she has all along wanted to follow through on this but scared to do it without a smoking gun ...” ⚠️ THE SIGNIFICANCE IS PROFOUND. These are contemporaneous messages in which participants explicitly described the diversity survey as a cover for an investigation they said had already been contemplated. The communications raise serious concerns that the publicly presented sequence of events may not reflect the discussions taking place behind the scenes. The references to Ruth Lehmann make the documentary evidence particularly consequential for examining Whitehead's leadership, the origins of the investigation, and the independence of the procedures that followed. An institutional investigation must be transparent, impartial, and grounded in evidence. Its legitimacy cannot rest on procedures whose stated purpose may differ from the purpose discussed privately by those involved. The documentary record demands independent scrutiny of Whitehead Institute Director Ruth Lehmann's decision-making, the origins of the investigation, and the integrity of the procedures that followed. 📑 REVIEW THW ORIGINAL COURT EVIDENCE BELOW. 🔱 ScienceGuardians™ Legal and Investigative Team MORE COURT EVIDENCE. MORE REVELATIONS. STAY TUNED. ⚠️ @SciGuardians 🔱

🔱 Part 1 — Court Exhibits 286 & 287: Troubling alignment between MIT and Whitehead leadership 🚨 Court exhibits and sworn testimony expose documented alignment between MIT Dean of Science Nergis Mavalvala and Whitehead Director Ruth Lehmann before MIT completed its tenure-review proceedings against Professor David M. Sabatini. ⚠️ Mavalvala subsequently chaired MIT's tenure-review committee, raising serious concerns about its independence and impartiality. 📑 THE COURT EVIDENCE SPEAKS FOR ITSELF. SEE BELOW.
