When an F-22 crosses the transonic speed range, the air itself can make the moment visible.
As the Raptor streaks past the Blue Angels’ parked F/A-18 Super Hornets, a dramatic vapor cone forms around the aircraft. It’s caused by pressure changes in humid air as shock waves develop near transonic speeds, not smoke from the engines.
The contrast is striking: the Super Hornets are built for carrier operations and the demands of the Blue Angels’ precision displays, while the F-22 was designed around stealth, supercruise and air-to-air dominance. Different missions, different engineering priorities.
But for this pass, the Raptor steals the show.

Quite excited to have a crack at this model, ridiculously expensive but you do get nose weights and metal under carriage. Never built an HK models kit before, though have the Lanc in my stash. Obviously it will be done in RAF scheme.
