When we look back, this will be the moment when the path was set, when Bitcoin oficially stopped being a monetary protocol under the stewardship of independent plebs, and became, in front of the whole world, something owned by nation states.
1913. 1971. 2026
The FIC is using Bitcoin to undermine its adversaries' ability to impose financial repression and enact capital controls.
That's why it will encourage "freedom" and fund tools to transact P2P abroad, while KYCing at home.
To protect itself, Russia is doing what China did.
France is so burnt to the ground, that today they hosted a fully packed Champions League match between PSG and Barcelona in Paris.
The players were scoring amazing goals amid the debris and rubble of a city burnt to the ground! To the ground!
Replying to @FrenchResponse
I'm glad I visited France before it burnt to the ground. It was a nice country
Do you understand what is coming? The hurricane of the century is approaching, do you want to survive?

THE GREAT REPRESSION is coming.
Read that, read it again. The Lebanon playbook. The Argentina 2001 playbook. That same playbook is now coming to the core of the West.
You still have time to act, but not much.
People - the debt will be inflated away but not all stores of wealth will be accessible to you. IMF paper documents the whole incoming regime of Financial Repression. You may see a balance in your brokerage or bank, but you will not be able to spend it.
Overview
The Western governments owe $100 trillions of dollars of debt. They can never pay this debt. They have no choice but to inflate it away as they did after the World Wars. This goes for all Western governments. First understand the basic mechanism of money supply expansion, QE.
Quantitive Easing or QE is a term used often but understood by very few.
It is simply the central bank (or Federal Reserve in the US) buying bad debt from other government debt holders. It can be called debt monetization and is mostly called “money printing”.
QE increases the size of the central bank (Feds) Balance Sheet.
But why does this cause inflation? Why do they call this inflating the debt away?
The answer is because prices go up because more money is bidding for the same goods and services so the price of these goods and services bids up.
The people pay for the debt with inflation and Financial Repression locks them from accessing the inflated assets.
The IMF just released their new paper “The Coming Great Repression”.
This is Financial Repression and its coming fast.
The governments will lock all exits from the fiat dollar/euro/yen systems then inflate the supplies to monetize the debt.
The early years before the events will be an attack on self sovereign assets and anything that shields wealth from government control.
The main stream media never even reported on this paper.
There will be an attack on Western citizen wealth.
Self Custody crypto and physical gold are the only lifeboats for wealth preservation under this incoming regime.
Look for more self custody FUD campaigns and more pressure to move to controlled custodial solutions behind “logins”.
There will be capital controls and guard rails around regulated custodial stores of value (banks, money markets, stocks and brokers) so you will not be able to withdraw or use your wealth even though you technically can see it.
This has begun in the UK and is rolling out towards 2030.
Remember just because you can see your bank balance does not mean you can spend it. That is Financial Repression an its a high probability outcome according to the IMF.
Hedge now into self custody L1 network stake and Bitcoin.
Not ETFs. Not treasury companies. Self custody.

A farmer, tired of rats destroying his crops and stealing his grain, came up with a clever but cruel plan. He threw a dead pig into a deep, abandoned well. Attracted by the smell, nearly 80 rats rushed into the well to feast on the carcass. At first, everything seemed wonderful. There was more than enough food for everyone, and the rats ate until they were satisfied.
But when the food was gone, they discovered something terrifying. The walls of the well were too steep to climb. They were trapped. Days passed, and hunger turned into desperation. Desperation turned into aggression. The rats that had once eaten peacefully beside one another began fighting for survival. Eventually, they began killing and eating each other.
One by one, their numbers dwindled until only a single rat remained. Its eyes were bloodshot, and it had survived by consuming its own kind. Then the farmer returned, lowered a rope into the well, and rescued the last surviving rat. But he didn't save it out of kindness or compassion.
The farmer knew the rat had learned to survive by hunting other rats. When he released it into his fields, it would continue killing its own kind instead of eating his grain. The farmer had turned his enemy into his greatest weapon.
And that is the lesson of divide and conquer. Those who control the trap don't need to fight the battles themselves. They simply create the conditions in which others turn against one another.
The rats believed their enemies were the other rats. They never realized that the true enemy was the farmer who had put them there.
The greatest danger isn't always the enemy standing in front of you. Sometimes it's the one who created the conflict and stands quietly watching you destroy each other.
Before you turn against your neighbor because of their political beliefs, ask yourself who benefits from keeping Americans divided. While we fight each other over Republican and Democrat, we may be overlooking those who profit from the conflict. Perhaps the real question isn't which side you're on, but who built the well—and why they want us fighting at the bottom of it.
Is your prefrontal cortex functioning, or has a burning building turned you into a "SMASH IMMIGRANTS, SAVE CIVILIZATION!!" monkey?
Replying to @PeoplesBread @RebelEconProf
It's amazing how effective a burning building is at shutting down people's prefrontal cortex. Even among Bitcoiner, even after 9/11.
Which is why the psyop is working, and will continue to work.
The ruling class (FIC), is weaponizing the cost of living crisis, and redirecting anger so "natives" and "imigrants" are too busy fighting each other, to organize and stop the tecno-feudal digital prison they are building for all of us.
The burning and looting will continue.
Exactly. I would want to burn everything down too, if I was in their shoes.
Replying to @spacebull
100 years of a fiat system fucking people causes this, the kids are angry. Don't let them fool you into thinking this is just about migrants.
It's really disappointing to see so many falling for the online narrative that Paris is burning because of immigrants. Especially Bitcoiners.
It's about the cost of living. It's about the very reason that turned most into Bitcoiners: money printing.
"Bitcoin was designed so that no single party could capture it. That turned out to be a technical claim, not a social one. The social layer has different failure modes, and we're in one of them."
This is a very important point.
I've spent the last 12 months critiquing Core as objectively as I can, while remaining fully allocated to the asset. That's not a contradiction. That's what honest scrutiny looks like from someone with skin in the game.
The response has been instructive. I've been told I'm an idiot who doesn't understand Bitcoin. That I'm a bad actor. That I'm personally attacking developers, when every critique I've made has been structural. People doing less technically rigorous work have been welcomed into the community because they stayed quiet on governance. I've been kept at arm's length for the same reason.
What's clarifying about this is that the reaction pattern is the proof. A healthy decentralized network doesn't need its critics to be discredited. It doesn't need governance scrutiny treated as an attack on the protocol. The fact that it does tells you something about what the network has actually become.
Bitcoin was designed so that no single party could capture it. That turned out to be a technical claim, not a social one. The social layer has different failure modes, and we're in one of them.
How Hodlonaut is treated is the canary in the coal mine for Bitcoin.
Things are not going well, to put it mildly.
POW is POS with extra steps. Those extra steps matter ONLY if hashrate and block template construction are decentralized.
Today they are not, so that vector of attack is wide open. We are at their mercy.
Respectfully…
Bitcoin uses Proof of Work, not Proof of Stake, so ownership does not equal control over the network.
Many of those large addresses are custodial wallets holding Bitcoin on behalf of hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions, of people.
You’re also including Satoshi’s estimated holdings.
Many of the largest holders are known exchanges, custodians, ETFs, companies and even nation states.
One address does not equal one person, and one person does not equal one address.
Address concentration is not the same as ownership concentration.
More importantly, Bitcoin’s consensus rules cannot be changed simply because someone owns a large amount of Bitcoin.
What are you suggesting I sell my Bitcoin for instead that you believe is more decentralised, less concentrated and less susceptible to manipulation?
Just curious.

IF YOU WANTED TO RUN A PSYOP AGAINST SELF CUSTODY, THIS IS HOW YOU'D DO IT.
You can't ban it. So you get people to hand it over themselves.
Step 1. Make it visible. Put a form on it. On 9 October France's finance committee voted for a declaration on every self custody wallet over €100,000. Coins held by a custodian are exempt.
Step 2. Make it a hassle. Make exchanges check the wallet is yours before you withdraw. The EU has done that above €1,000 since 2024.
Step 3. Go after the toolmakers. Samourai Wallet's developer got five years for a wallet that never held his users' coins.
Step 4. Make it frightening. July: a Coldcard firmware bug from 2021 lets attackers drain about $116 million from 5,200 addresses. October: $93 million from Ledgers sold through one reseller.
Step 5. Let the lists leak. Coinbase staff bribed for 69,461 customers' names and addresses. France's tax office broken into in June.
Step 6. Make it dangerous. 52 wrench attacks in six months. Home invasions up from 1 to 20.
Step 7. Offer the safe option. BlackRock cut the minimum to swap your Bitcoin into its ETF from $25 million to $1 million. Over $5 billion already converted. Its head of digital assets says why: "kidnappings, ransom, custody failures." Their coins sit at Coinbase.
Then call all of it protection.
Now read the list again. Every step is already under way.
Maybe nobody planned it. Maybe it's just every incentive pointing the same way. Does it matter, if you end up in the same place?
Hold your keys.
This bear market is spiritual, as some have pointed out.
Liquid Network Update:
Since the 17th of September, you have been able to move non-LBTC swap services via sideshiftai (who dafuq) with cross-chain swaps for $USDT (Tether)
and $DEPIX (WTF is that?) on the Liquid Network.
HOWEVER, LBTC<>BTC and LBTC<>Lightning swap routes on those services remain unavailable until peg-outs are restored.
In short.
The Liquid Network is still functioning if you are a degen Shtonk trader or NFT "collector", but not if you are a Bitcoiner.
It's a shitcoin L2 Hellpit chain.
How are we not calling this shit out as a community?
Why are @Excellion @adam3us and @Blockstream getting a pass?
They lost 4000 Bitcoin on their watch, then negotiated via Op_Return to get 3400 back.
Are we just going to let this slide?
People have lost access to their Bitcoin, this is unacceptable.
For a company that has raised over $650M, the comms have been disastrous and the leadership non-existent.
It's farcical.

Talking about "self-custody" on a network with mining as centralized as Bitcoin is as a silly as thinking you have sovereignty over the money in your bank account because you're the only person who knows your login password.
Simon's big picture diagnosis is the best today, but when it comes to solutions, his prescription is narrowly individualistic, implying the majority sinking and suffering as an inevitability.
1:24:13: Julian asks for a solution that works for everyone, he dodges the question.

TLDR: Saylor and the Consortium are an attack on Bitcoin.
So is anyone offering credit and lending services.
It's asinine that this has to be said, as if the last century didn't happen and we weren't still living in that hell.
Replying to @dotkrueger
IMO more Bitcoiners should spend more time on understanding that if "digital credit" is developed it will ensure BTC never goes to $1m
That may even be the point of "digital credit."
But Bitcoiners would be well-served to study "credit gold" that began in London in mid-80s
When I first got into Bitcoin, I thought this was just some pet theory from the crazy bitcoiners.
But just like so many conspiracy theories, they were not theories, but part of our dystopic reality.
Nobody I know is aware.

And no, it isn't water vapour and Ice Crystals, bro's.
As per the Royal Society's own admission:
"Geoengineering has been defined by the Royal Society (2009) as: “the deliberate large-scale manipulation of the planetary environment to counteract anthropogenic climate change”.
One category of geoengineering techniques is Solar Radiation Management (SRM) in which one attempts to control global temperatures via altering the global energy flux; either by reducing short wave isolation or increasing the outgoing long wave component.
Aerosols injected into the Stratosphere is the SRM technique which has been identified as potentially the most affordable and effective option for reducing incident short-wave radiation (Royal Society, 2009)."
