Moving Jobe up a line is hiding his weaknesses and bringing out his strengths. In past DerKlassikers, his shaky ball handling under Bayern's press cost us a goal every time. Now that's covered up, and his physicality, stamina and surprisingly neat footwork made him BVB's standout player in the first half.

what do you think of the new FanModus? 📵
Where I live, many people at small gigs film the artist instead of listening, so the live scene has started "phones away, enjoy the show" campaigns.
I see the club's policy as a similar attempt to bring back the live experience. Is that mindset common in Germany too, or is this just unnecessary?

🇩🇪 🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Borussia Dortmund will REWARD fans who DON’T use their phones during matches!
The German club is introducing a new “Fan Mode” in its official app, where supporters earn points for every minute they go without unlocking their phones.
Fans who collect the most points can win SIGNED SHIRTS and shopping vouchers.
The initiative comes after a study found that 63% of supporters regularly use their phones during matches.
Honestly, I thought Kovač's answer on Beier was unprofessional.
Maxi was signed as a forward, but he never fit Kovač's system. He's been patched in all over the pitch, and now he's even being used at wing-back. Through all of that, he hasn't been able to develop in his actual position, and he didn't even make Klopp's first 44-man Germany pool. Forty-four players. And he wasn't one of them.
I don't know what Kovač has said to him behind closed doors. But if you say this in a public press conference, where does that leave Beier? The Sky reporter didn't even ask an unfair question.
And if you're going to play him at wing-back, you should be pushing him to unlock his full potential there. He still looks average in that role. I just don't get it.
If Beier had a bit more of an ego, we'd already be reading "Beier unhappy" headlines.

Niko Kovac, in response to the claim that ‘many people’ say Maxi Beier doesn’t feel 100 per cent comfortable on the left side and why the player is currently struggling, should see it this way:
"Who are ‘many’ people? We need to keep things in perspective. We can’t turn a minority into a majority. It’s all too common these days. I’m the coach; I know what Maxi is capable of and I speak to him as well. He’s already put in a lot of really good performances. And I thought he did well defensively; offensively, it was generally a bit of a struggle for us as a team. You can’t judge based on just one match. Maxi’s doing really well. He takes everything I tell him on board. If he had to, he’d go in goal straight away. So I’m not going to let that stand. That’s too simplistic for my liking, and I won’t let anyone tell me it’s the majority. I can say that too. The majority of people I speak to say ‘Niko brilliant’. So who’s right now? Right, next topic please."

Samuele Inácio explains why he left Italy for Borussia Dortmund: Germany doesn't care about age. If you're ready, you play.

Giannis's injury really hurts. His ball skills would've been a big help in unpicking that low block..😭
Why does this team keep using this build-up shape?
They build out with a back four, so the players end up spread way too far apart and the ball keeps getting cut off. Every time, the opponent just presses JOANE GADOU and we lose it. We've run this all season.
WHY are we doing this?? Someone please explain it to me.

Genuine question for German fans: under Klopp, the right-back (Treu) always pushes up first while the left-back (Raum, Mittelstädt) stays back to balance things.
But Raum and Mittelstädt are the bigger threat going forward. What's the logic here? Am I missing something?
