The WVU baseball team played an intrasquad scrimmage on Friday night at Kendrick Family Ballpark.
First-year infielder Kayden Lipscomb hit a game-changing grand slam in the seventh inning, leading the Gold team to a 6-5 win.

As the parent of 3 boys (one a senior) who are all involved in baseball, this got me.
Related: a rule in our home is to never be too busy to play catch with your kids. If they ask, the answer is always yes.
"I’ve never played a single game of baseball. Not once. Never even threw, or caught, a baseball until I was in college. I have no personal connection to the game....For me, the joy of baseball has been walking with my little boy as he grew."

This is a fantastic piece, short read, but will resonate with anyone captured by the sounds, smells, and sights of baseball. And yes, “Dad, want to have a catch?” will forever initiate dust in the room.

Working with an SEC coach today, we got into a real conversation about evaluating hitters in the recruiting process.
What we found in the margins:
You can get ahead simply by knowing what you’re actually looking at.
Sounds simple, but anyone can watch a hitter perform.
Not everyone can project talent.
Not everyone can see what a player can become.
That’s where programs separate.
The ability to identify future growth — not just current results — is what leads you to the players who change the trajectory of your program.

🚨 LADIES AND GENTLEMEN OF AMERICA, THE MOMENT YOU’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!
The @WNBA has officially responded!
IS THE #WNBA TRANSPHOBIC?
Apparently, the WNBA still can’t define what a WOMAN is, but they’re absolutely certain they know what a MAN is!
How convenient!
WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert has declared that I am a man.
Who gave her the authority to decide who I am?
Who gets to define my identity?
And how can the WNBA determine who is a man without explaining what qualifies someone as a woman?
Is the WNBA denying people the right to define their own gender identity?
You can’t have it both ways!
America, read this letter for yourselves.
THE WNBA HAS SOME EXPLAINING TO DO!
