Brycen Widhalm

After a lot of prayer and reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision to leave Army. This wasn’t an easy decision because Army is filled with some of the most incredible people I’ve ever met. My coaches, teammates, Leadership, cadre, and everyone who invested in me showed me what true brotherhood, discipline, and selfless service look like. I’ll carry those lessons with me for the rest of my life. I want to sincerely apologize to everyone who believed in me and welcomed me into the Army family. I know the significance of making a commitment, and I don’t take changing course lightly. If I’ve disappointed anyone, I’m truly sorry. This decision isn’t a reflection of Army or the people there. In fact, it’s because of my respect for the Academy and everyone who serves something greater than themselves that this was so difficult. Thank you to everyone who supported me during my time at Army. I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity, the friendships, and the lessons I learned. I’ll always have tremendous respect for Army Football and the brotherhood that makes it so special. Coach Saturnio - E kala mai iaʻu.

On this Memorial Day, I sit here thinking about you—your strength, your courage, and the incredible legacy you left behind. You served as a Navy Diver with SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team 1, pushing yourself to the limits so that others could be safe and our country could stand strong. You gave everything in service, and I want you to know that your sacrifice will never be forgotten. I carry your memory with me every single day. I hope you’re looking down from heaven right now and smiling at the man I’ve become. I love you, Dad. Rest easy, warrior. You’ve earned your peace. 🇺🇸 @NavySEALfnd @ArmyWP_Football @SEALFamilyFDN
