💡Extended resection in T4 NSCLC sometimes requires a meticulously prepared surgical setting — for example, preoperative aortic stenting in cases with cT4 aortic wall involvement. It is essential to plan such measures well in advance and within a multidisciplinary framework.
I’m sharing our earlier paper summarizing our collaborative experience with vascular surgery, which remains highly relevant today given the growing literature on borderline resectable NSCLC (e.g., MDT bridge, LungMATE-01...).

Interesting intraoperative findings! Due to the size, a necrosis of the #aorticwall with exposed #thrombus was seen ventrally (see white circle). This is proof that thrombus protects against #rupture 😉!
