The SAS in Basra were planting car bombs in Shia and Sunni areas to inflame sectarian tensions. They were caught red-handed dressed as Arabs, with a car full of explosives and detonators, then killed an Iraqi policeman at a checkpoint whilst trying to escape

I feel like something strange is happening. People are no longer engaging with tweets about Gaza; they're no longer affected by what's really happening. Why is this happening. Please don't forget that we are still suffering

The radio silence and complete isolation of my father is unbearable. Let us speak to him. Let us know he’s alive. Have some humanity. Free Imran Khan.

A player other than Fakhar Zaman might have struggled to keep his place in the side for the final. But as Pakistan keep getting reminded, life after Fakhar doesn't seem much fun. cricinfo.com/story/pak-vs-sl…

Is it fair to say this has been the best month or more of cricket ever. 1. Pakistan Tri-series v England and Sri Lanka. 2. South Africa v Australia 3. New Zealand v india
Renshaw returning from a three-year Test exile to score a career-best hundred, followed by a stunning 134-run ninth-wicket partnership. Australia going from 124-6 to 390. Markram batting for over 200 balls, displaying extraordinary resolve. Josh Hazlewood producing a sensational spell to register his career-best Test figures and put Australia 1-0 up. Boland, playing his first Test in South Africa, ripping through their top three before eventually claiming a five-wicket haul in the second Test. South Africa showing incredible fight, putting together two century partnerships after losing their sixth wicket for the first time in their history. Bavuma producing one of the finest Test hundreds you'll ever see. A career-best knock, built on immense tenacity against a relentless pace attack. South Africa going from 110-6 to 425. Marco Jansen unleashing a destructive five-wicket haul to bowl Australia out for 99. Travis Head producing a resolute hundred, with Boland showing extraordinary bravery to face more than 160 balls and keep Australia's hopes alive. South Africa roaring back to level the series despite losing two days to rain. South Africa making a strong start in the third Test, only for Starc's sensational six-wicket haul to drag Australia right back into the contest. Inglis, returning to the Test side after almost a year, smashing a sizzling 132-ball hundred to give Australia the lead and the upper hand. With just six wickets remaining, South Africa batting through the entirety of Day 4, as Rickelton and Mulder both scoring hundreds to wrestle the advantage back. Rabada striking twice in the very first over of Day 5. And then Harmer claiming his first ten-wicket haul in a Test to seal a famous series victory for South Africa. Every Test had drama, going into the fifth day every time. Every Test had its twists and turns. Every Test had a story to tell. Test cricket, bloody hell, eh?

A significant development for Kashmir. The Worldwide Lawyers Association (WOLAS) has taken an important step by documenting what it describes as a pattern of assimilation, dispossession and settler colonialism in Indian-occupied Jammu & Kashmir—and by announcing that it will pursue accountability through universal jurisdiction. This is precisely the direction that is needed: documentation, international law and accountability—not political rhetoric alone. The Kashmir question cannot be reduced to an “internal security” issue. The rights of the Kashmiri people, including their internationally recognised right to self-determination, cannot be erased through demographic, legal or administrative changes. I sincerely thank WOLAS for undertaking this important initiative and TRT World for giving it international visibility. The world must ensure that Kashmir does not remain a forgotten question of international law. Accountability must follow documentation. trtworld.com/article/f426f8b…. #Kashmir #KashmirConflict #HumanRights #InternationalLaw #SelfDetermination #UniversalJurisdiction @wolasorg

Seventy-nine years ago today, Indian forces landed in Srinagar, and a long night fell over Jammu & Kashmir. For nearly eight decades, the Kashmiri people have been denied their inalienable right to self-determination, a right affirmed by the UN Security Council. They have endured repression, incarceration and immense suffering, yet their resolve has never broken. On this solemn day, I pay tribute to the countless Kashmiri men, women and children whose sacrifices keep the flame of freedom alive. Aspirations rooted in justice cannot be extinguished by coercion. Pakistan stands with Kashmir today and always. We will continue our moral, diplomatic and political support until this dispute is resolved in accordance with UNSC resolutions and the will of the Kashmiri people. #KashmirBlackDay
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif's Message on Jammu & Kashmir Black Day, 27 October 2026. Seventy-nine years ago, Indian forces landed in Srinagar, marking the beginning of a tragic chapter in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, one that continues to cast its long shadow over the region to this day. Since then, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been denied the realization of their inalienable right to self-determination, as affirmed in the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. The people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have endured immense hardship, suffering and repression. Yet their courage, resilience and unwavering resolve to secure their fundamental rights remain undiminished. The sacrifices of successive generations stand as a powerful testament to their enduring commitment to freedom, dignity and justice. India has continued its efforts to suppress legitimate political expression and silence the voices that represent the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. The prolonged incarceration of Kashmiri political leaders, activists and human rights defenders remains deeply concerning. It underscores the need for due process, respect for basic liberties, and greater international attention to the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Since 5 August 2019, India has taken a series of unilateral measures in IIOJK, accompanied by sweeping restrictions on fundamental freedoms. These measures, affecting the political, legal and demographic character of the territory, have drawn serious international attention. Pakistan has consistently called for these developments to be addressed in accordance with international law and the applicable United Nations Security Council resolutions. Pakistan's position on Jammu and Kashmir remains clear, consistent and principled. Lasting peace and stability in South Asia cannot be achieved without a just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. On this solemn occasion, I pay tribute to the countless Kashmiri men, women and children who have offered immense sacrifices in pursuit of their rights. Their memory will always be honoured. The aspirations of the Kashmiri people cannot be extinguished through coercion or repression. On this Jammu & Kashmir Black Day, the Government and people of Pakistan reaffirm their unwavering solidarity with the people of IIOJK. Pakistan will continue to extend its moral, diplomatic and political support to the Kashmiri people, and to advocate for their legitimate rights at every national and international forum. May the people of Jammu and Kashmir realize a future of lasting peace, dignity and security, and the fulfilment of their aspirations, including the right to self-determination.

In light of the Ballon d’Or ceremony tonight, I want to remind people that in 2023 Erling Haaland scored 54 goals, broke every record under the sun in England, won the Premier league, Champions League and FA Cup, and did NOT win it. Joke award.
