One of my favourite podcasts to host! I spent close to 20 years of my life working in tertiary hospitals with clinicians and researchers for the Fiona Wood Foundation. I helped them improve their tech, automation, data & systems. This conversation covers the future of medicine, clinical care, technology, leadership, motivation, resilience and innovation. Perfect for those trying to do hard things. Especially when people tell you that you're crazy or you can't do it. Have a listen and get inspired!
In this ep. Bergs sits down with Prof. Fiona Wood and Assoc. Prof. Dale Edgar to break down innovation, resilience, and what business owners can learn from world-class problem-solving. Episode 209 is live: 🎥 YouTube: youtu.be/7zjNcTibrGA 🎧 Spotify: creators.spotify.com/pod/sho…

If you think you can replace your team with AI, remember this: "The doorman fallacy is the mistake of reducing a person’s job to its most obvious task and assuming that automating that task replaces the value of the whole role. A hotel decides “we’re paying someone to open a door. An automatic door can do that more cheaply.” But in fact, the doorman also welcomes guests and recognizes returning customers, handles luggage and hails taxis, provides security and discourages unwanted visitors, and signals prestige and makes guests feel cared for." We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are. Don't ruin your business with management/owner hubris. Make sure you know the job inside out before you try to replace it or it will cost you a lot of time and money.

HEX FOUNDER RICHARD HEART ARRESTED IN ISTANBUL, $600,000 CASH AND ARSENAL SEIZED Turkish authorities have reportedly arrested Richard Heart, whose real name is Richard James Schueler, in a joint intelligence and police operation in Istanbul. Heart, founder of HEX, PulseChain and PulseX, was wanted under an Interpol Red Notice issued at Finland’s request. Police reportedly detained Heart and his wife at a residence in Istanbul’s Beşiktaş district following extensive surveillance. Authorities seized: • $600,000 in cash • 24 wristwatches • 20 gold bracelets and 7 gold necklaces • 7 firearms and 1,360 rounds of ammunition • 12 mobile phones and 6 laptops • 20 graphics cards and 14 SSDs • 2 drones In 2023, the SEC charged Heart with raising over $1 billion through unregistered crypto offerings and allegedly misappropriating at least $12 million in investor funds to purchase luxury goods, including sports cars, expensive watches and a 555-carat black diamond. Heart was subsequently placed on Interpol’s wanted list in 2024 over separate allegations involving tax fraud and assault. Both Heart and his wife have been taken into custody for questioning as the investigation continues.

Mans knows what's up.
My yearly post on how you should play the upcoming crypto boom cycle. Stop listening to morons trying to get you to buy their coin. Buy Bitcoin, store it safely, shut off the computer, touch grass, come back in a couple of years.

Some transactions you sign are contracts that have approvals within them. They work in perpetuity until revoked or a limit is hit that you have set (if available). More here - metamask.io/en-GB/news/what-…
ELI5 If I use a Ledger, even if I have direct access to my wallet (I.e. I access my MM thru pwd), I still need to sign using the Ledger ANY transaction How the hell is a hacker, or @0xQuit performing a whitehat, able to force a tx without the need of the Ledger signature?!

Second time I've seen this message today by people I respect. Making money is easy. Keeping it is very hard.
One more to add Getting rich and staying rich are two very different skill sets, and those good at one are generally not good at the either Learn fast or you’ll be like so many others who round trip generational wealth TLDR take profits and don’t give it back to the casino

Slow down and remember this: Most things make no difference. Being busy is a form of laziness—lazy thinking and indiscriminate action. Being overwhelmed is often as unproductive as doing nothing, and is far more unpleasant. Being selective—doing less—is the path of the productive. Focus on the important few and ignore the rest.

.@naval: “The opportunities have never been more equal than now. @elonmusk and @JeffBezos have the same iPhone you do. They don’t have some better version of an iPhone. They’re eating food that might be marginally better than yours, but it’s basically the same. You might even have a better diet than them. You probably have more time to go to the gym than them. They’re not immortal, and they’re not going to be—most likely, not at this time scale. So you have more youth than them. You have a lot of advantages over them. The wealth gaps are actually much smaller than people think. A lot of that is due to mass production, which comes from specialization, labor, and capitalism. But it’s very easy to overlook that and agitate—because that gets you higher in the status hierarchy with other monkeys. It makes you look like you’re fighting for noble causes and gives you status, which is really what people are craving these days. They’re craving status, not money or wealth. And status is a zero-sum game. So it’s kind of an evil game to play because there have to be losers for every winner. And the only way to win is by crushing somebody else down.”
Technology is the great equalizer. Most people now have access to the same internet, the same phones, the same AI models. And they are very quickly getting access to the same financial services, from anywhere in the world. Geography and your wealth shouldn’t determine this - and soon, they won’t.
