When being just and honest comes at a price, pay it. When forgiving seems like a defeat, forgive. When everyone tells you to think of yourselves first, do not be afraid to put yourselves in the last place. Be willing to give up time, money, comfort and plans to serve others. May those who see you find themselves asking: “Why do they live in this way? Where do they get this freedom? Why do they love one another so much?” #ApostolicJourney #Uruguay

These takes are embarrassing. Ethnic communities clustering geographically is one of the most ordinary features of migration. Houston has a major Nigerian community. Peckham is strongly associated with London’s Nigerian diaspora. Dearborn is known for its Arab-American community. We also have Chinatowns, Little Italys, Koreatowns and countless similar examples. There’s nothing mysterious about it. Describing a community’s size, visibility or influence is not the same thing as declaring a ‘takeover.’ Turning ordinary demographic reality into an existential threat when it involves a group you dislike is prejudice not analysis. And before condemning another community on that basis, it’s worth asking whether you’d use the same rhetoric about your own.
turns out the pastor was right but the ignorant crowd went after him

I believe in a world where a Palestinian child and a Jewish Israeli child growing up in the Holy Land can look forward at their life and believe it is not going to be curtailed by somebody's violence.

Over 70 days of sacrifice, sleepless nights, cold foxholes, endless miles and moments I wanted to give up. But I kept pushing. Proud to have earned my place as a soldier in the most lethal fighting force in the world. 🇺🇸🫡

The practical reason more greencard holders (including Nigerians) end up in the Army is volume and job availability. The Army is the largest branch and has more openings in roles that do not require security clearances. Non citizens generally cannot obtain standard Secret or Top Secret clearances (only rare, limited, program specific authorizations), which restricts access to many technical, intelligence, cyber, and sensitive positions that are more common in the Air Force, Navy, and Space Force. This pushes them toward MOS fields where the Army has greater capacity.
Quick one: Before I ask, it is important that I state, from the outset, that I am not asking this to stir up controversy, set one tribe against another, or entertain any of that bigotry rubbish. I am genuinely curious about something I've observed and would like to understand it. Why is it that virtually all the Nigerians I come across who enlist in the United States Armed Forces seem to join the Army? Not the Navy, the Air Force, or any of the other branches. The Army. Why?

Vice Admiral Nancy Lacore defied the odds, winning the race for South Carolina’s First Congressional District. Lacore was fired by Pete Hegseth without cause after 35 years of service to our country. She could have retired, but Lacore wasn’t ready to stop serving. Now she’ll represent South Carolina in Congress, and VoteVets is proud to have had her back.

It is my honor and privilege to be headed to the US Senate to serve the great state of Michigan.  Michigan, we did what they said couldn’t be done. We won. Together. Now the real work begins.

This has been the most rewarding, exhilarating, and exhausting 19 months of my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way. None of this is possible without all of you — the people. The people who knocked doors, canvassed, made phone calls, sent texts, volunteered, donated, shared a social media post, spread the word, and voted. This is OUR seat. I’m going to make you proud. Thank you, Michigan!
