Reddy is not a "Hindu" surname like Agnihotri, Sharma, Trivedi etc. It is a local Telugu surname used for village heads. It has no mention in any Hindu scripture.

No law forces anyone to change their surname or caste identity after converting. ​Under Indian law (Articles 19 and 21), keeping a family name is a fundamental right of personal identity.
