How I did for Level 1 picks #wisfb
D1: 14/16 - Went with Chippewa Falls over Hudson. Was a 3 point game in week 9. Also went with SPASH over A North. Looks like SPASH without Breitbach really hurt them
D2: 14/16 - Picked LAX Central over Waukesha West. MVC struggling in D2 is starting to become a theme. But, the league thrives in D3.
Also picked Slinger over WBW, which in hindsight, just a bad pick. WBW has been on a mission. First ever playoff win for them, and it happens to come in their final year before merging with East.
D3: 15/16 - Went with Onalaska over Plymouth. Actually had Onalaska going to Level 3. Plymouth and the entire glacier trails looks great.
D4: 14/16 - Had Platteville over Evansville. The SWC went 0-4 and had a very down year, which is not typical for that conference. Then again, Platteville would be much better suited in D5 as they play D5/D6 teams in conference play.
Had Shoreland Lutheran over Saint Francis. SL won the first matchup this year, SF got revenge. Great season for the mariners.
D5: 16/16✅
D6: 13/16 - Picked Mineral Point over Potosi/Cassville. Great win for the Chieftans after getting bumped up to D6.
Had Wey-Fremont over Randolph/C-F. The CWC wasn't as strong as usual it seems outside of Amherst and Stratford.
Had St Mary's Springs over Belleville. Belleville came from behind in that one. Great win over a historic program.
D7: 14/16 - Picked Webster over Melrose-Mindoro. Didn't trust anyone outside of the top 2 in the Dairyland. Was proven wrong.
Picked Shiocton over Osseo-Fairchild. I doubt many picked this upset. Probably the only true shocker of the weekend. At least I only had Shiocton going to level 2.
Total: 100/112 89.3% Only 1 level 3 pick eliminated.

You reveal yourself to be quite the asshole if you look at the Level 1 scores and cherry-pick one conference's results when it was blowout city almost everywhere. #wisfb
I rarely ever comment on officials since I recognize it is a very difficult job, especially in the current landscape of high school and youth sports, but what the heck is this? Have none of the officials, coaches, AD, etc. seen an OT game in high school or college in the last 15 years? Did everyone just want to see the end of the Brewers game that badly?
It's been 15(!) years since the NFHS adapted the 25 yard line as the starting position in OT. Yet it goes to the 10 yard line in OT here, and somehow a 3 minute game clock????

Forgot to tweet it out before the games tonight, but my title picks for each division:
D1: Bay Port
D2: Notre Dame
D3: Catholic Memorial
D4: Freedom
D5: Darlington
D6: Mondovi
D7: Coleman

With the 11-player playoffs kicking off tomorrow night, let's take a look at how things stand for the Tournament Performance Factor. #wisfb
As a reminder, if a team receives a total of 6 points over the 3 previous seasons, then they are to be moved up a division in the following year. Teams can continue to get moved up, if they continue to perform well in an elevated division (Stratford is the main example, as they are a D6 enrollment team, but now have played their way up to D4.)
Here's how you receive points:
State championship = 4 points
State runner-up = 3 points
Level 4/state semi-finals = 2 points
Level 3/sectional finals = 1 point
Here are the teams that are elevated for the 2026 season:
* = enrollment already D1
Bay Port* D1
Muskego* D1
Waunakee* D1
Badger D1 - elevated from D2
West De Pere D1 - elevated from D2
Notre Dame D2 - elevated from D3
Grafton D2 - elevated from D3
Rice Lake D2 - elevated from D3
Catholic Memorial D3 - would've been elevated from D4, but enrollment already puts them in D3
Baldwin-Woodville D3 - elevated from D4
Winneconne D3 - elevated from D4
Wrightstown D4 - Would've been elevated from D5, but enrollment already puts them in D4
Northwestern D4 - elevated from D5
Aquinas D4 - elevated from D5
Stratford D4 - double elevated from D6
Grantsburg D5 - elevated from D6
Darlington D5 - elevated from D6
Kenosha St. Joe's D6 - elevated from D7
Edgar D6 - elevated from D7
Potosi/Cassville D6 - elevated from D7
Here is how results from this postseason can affect each of those teams for the 2027 season:
Waunakee (2 seed) - Needs to reach Level 4 to for sure stay in D1, though their enrollment likely keeps them in D1 either way.
Badger - They needed to reach the state title game to stay D1, but did not make the playoffs, so they will go back to D2, unless their enrollment were to be high enough for D1.
West De Pere (1 seed) - They will stay D1 no matter what
Notre Dame (1 seed) - A state title game appearance moves them to D1. Anything short of that keeps them in D2. They cannot drop back to D3.
Grafton (6 seed) - They need to reach at least Level 3 to stay in D2. Otherwise, they will go back to D3.
Rice Lake - They did not make the playoffs and will go back to D3.
Catholic Memorial (5 seed) - They need to reach at least Level 3 to go to D2. Otherwise, they could drop back to D4, but their enrollment could keep them in D3 either way.
Baldwin-Woodville (5 seed) - They need to reach Level 3 to stay in D3. Otherwise they drop back to D4.
Winneconne (2 seed) - They will stay in D3 no matter what.
Wrightstown (6 seed) - They need to reach the state title game to for sure stay in D4. Otherwise, they could drop to D5, but their enrollment may keep them in D4.
Northwestern (2 seed) - They need to reach Level 3 to stay in D4. Otherwise, they'll drop back to D5.
Aquinas (3 seed) - They need to reach the state title game to go to D3. Otherwise, they'll go back to D5. They will not be in D4 again next year. It'll either be D3 or D5.
Stratford (2 seed) - They will stay in D4 no matter what.
Grantsburg (2 seed) - They need to reach Level 4 to stay in D5. Otherwise, they go back to D6.
Darlington (1 seed) - They need to reach Level 4 to stay in D5. Otherwise, they go back to D6.
Kenosha St. Joseph (2 seed) - They will stay in D6 no matter what.
Edgar (1 seed) - They need to reach the state title game to go up to D5. Otherwise, they stay in D6. They cannot drop back to D7.
Potosi/Cassville (5 seed) - They need to reach Level 3 to stay in D6. Otherwise they go back to D7.
Now for teams that are not currently elevated, but could be next year depending on their finish:
Homestead (D2 2 seed) - They need to reach the state title game to go to D1.
River Falls (D2 6 seed) - They need to win state to go to D1.
Slinger (D2 6 seed) - They need to reach Level 4 to go to D1.
La Crosse Logan (D3 1 seed) - They need to win state to go to D2.
Mt. Horeb/Barneveld (D3 4 seed) - They need to win state to go to D2.
Reedsburg (D3 2 seed) - They need to reach the state title game to go to D2.
Whitefish Bay (D3 2 seed) - They need to win state to go to D2.
Wisconsin Lutheran (D3 3 seed) - They need to win state to go to D2.
Freedom (D4 1 seed) - They need to win state to go to D3.
Little Chute (D4 1 seed) - They need to reach the state title game to go to D3.
Racine St. Catherine's (D4 1 seed) - They need to reach Level 3 to go to D3.
Columbus (D5 8 seed) - They need to reach the state title game to go to D4.
Lake Country Lutheran (D5 3 seed) - They need to reach the state title game to go to D4.
Mayville (D5 3 seed) - They need to reach Level 3 to go to D4.
Belleville (D6 4 seed) - They need to reach the state title game to go to D5.
Bonduel (D6 1 seed) - They need to reach the state title game to go to D5.
Cedar Grove-Belgium (D6 3 seed) - They need to win state to go to D5.
Lomira (D6 2 seed) - They need to reach Level 4 to go to D5.
Manitowoc Lutheran (D6 1 seed) - They need to win state to go to D5)
Mondovi (D6 1 seed) - They need to win state to go to D5.
Prairie du Chien (D6 8 seed) - They need to win state to go to D5.

Coleman (D7 1 seed) - They need to win state to go to D6.
Lourdes Academy (D7 2 seed) - They need to reach the state title game to go to D6.

@TravisBOUND
Ended up with 223/224 teams correct in the field (I had Colby instead of LWL).
217 teams correctly seeded (Colby/LWL, Reagan/KIT, MAS/Amery, SF/Fuller)
90/112 first round matchups correct (80%)
#wisfb
So a little worse than last year. Would really be nice to get my hands on the official mileage charts lol.
All the seeding/teams in the field discrepancies except for Reagan/KIT comes down to how the Catholic Central/Kenosha Christian Life Co-op games were treated.
Quick look at things, I believe I got 223/224? Only miss was having Colby instead of LWL. Definitely some forfeit/replacement game discrepancies.
And maybe a few seeds off? Reagan/Indian Trail is one I know of.
Handful of matchups flipped. #wisfb
Finally got a chance to take a peak of where I got it wrong regarding Living Word Lutheran/Colby.
#wisfb
It comes down to the newly formed Catholic Central/Kenosha Christian Life Co-op. This co-op is part of the Midwest Classic (same conference as LWL). The co-op was formed outside of normal timing for creating one, so how points against them were to be counted had to be figured out.
All throughout the season on LaVoy's site and on the WIAA's mid season official standings, all games against CC/KCL were automatically given a forfeit win for the opponent, for playoff purposes. This was technically a win against a ghost Catholic Central team, which is D7.
So, Catholic Central was treated as a winless team, and that's how I was treating that as well.
Somehow, the WIAA, decided to change this interpretation on the final night of the season.
Wins over CC/KCL were now treated as a D6 win, and as a win over a team with a 1-7 record. While it may not seem like much, that is the difference between Living Word Lutheran being in, compared to Colby being in.
And why a 1-7 record? CC/KCL went 2-7 on the field and it appears their win over Johnson Creek (or even the game itself) does not exist. If that game would've been accounted for, then every team who played CC/KCL, their PQS score would be slightly higher, which could change seeds, brackets, etc.
This is also the reason why Racine Lutheran got the number 1 overall seed over Darlington. I had Darlington over RaLu #wisfb
Haven't seen this float around yet. Please be sure to fill out this form for all complaints about why the WIAA and the entire state hates your favorite team #wisfb
