A sad day for us all 😥
All at London Welsh RFC are deeply saddened by the news this evening that rugby legend JPR Williams has passed away. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his friends, colleagues and family. A huge loss to all who knew and loved him.

I was pleased to represent @MebyonKernow on BBC Politics SW today and to be able to make the argument that Cornwall needs proper devolution – not tweaks to local government as in the so-called "devolution deal" out for consultation at the moment. See: bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0…

The number of family homes being turned into second homes & holiday lets is killing communities in Cornwall, Northumberland, Shropshire, Devon, Somerset, North Yorkshire, in the Highlands of Scotland, in rural Wales and here in Cumbria. We desperately need ministers to act now.

On the eve of the 20th anniversary of the 50,000 declarations at 10 Downing Street, we should remember that MK members & others have continued to campaign for more powers for Cornwall. The campaign is ongoing, and an exciting new developments is the launch of (AUOB) Kernow.

The fuchsia first arrived in England in 1788, having been discovered in the Caribbean c.1696. It is known as the Virgin Mary’s earrings & when worn by a bride on her wedding day can bring great blessings. It is also a favourite hiding place of fairies. #FolkloreThursday Img: CMB

In folklore bigger dolmens such as this giant at Bagneux in Saumur (Maine-et-Loire) were often held to be druid temples as in the caption on this card. It does not say however whether the impressively bearded man in front belonged to that fraternity. #FolkloreThursday

#FolkloreThursday food themed post! Cornish pasties feature prominently in the folklore of the mine spirits ‘Knockers’. Named for knocking to alert miners of danger or to lead to the best ore veins. This comes with a price…and that price is…mutual respect and PASTY crusts!

Granny Boswell (c.1817-1909) was thought to be a witch/pellar in Helston, #Cornwall. Born in Ireland, of Romany heritage & moved to Cornwall in the 1860s. Contemporary sources say she was a nuisance to authorities but she has also been described as a white witch #FolkloreThursday
