A number of Nairobi MCAs want the Senate to take time and properly grill Nairobi Governor on the Auditor General's report. The MCAs believe that their colleagues in the assembly's Public Accounts Committee led by Ngara MCA Chege Mwaura have been compromised not to grill executive officers over serious issues raised by the auditor. Chege Mwaura has consequently been put on the spot for making the committee lose its relevance on matters oversight

Truth be told:Networking only works when you have something to offer, you can’t expect people to network with you when you don’t have anything to give out .Networking is overrated, build yourself first, have something that you can sell. Depending on rich friends is not networking.

I have been going to Quiver, trying to convince myself that I am still a child worthy of a Gen Z nyash, but reality bites harder every day. I am an old, middle-aged man who should know my place. Old age kinda corners you. You don't see it coming. One moment, you are a swashbuckling young man, drinking tons of vodka shots until 5 a.m. and still managing to wake up at 6.30 a.m. and being able to function the whole day, though milking cold water out of the dispenser every 20 minutes. And then, you are old. Because, tell me, what in the name of morbid coincidence is happening to me? In the last two weeks, all the random conversations I have had with fellow men in my age bracket have revolved around retirement. Just the other day, I was talking about the beauty of female jeans, pants, and good thighs, but in the last week, everywhere I turn up, my fellow men are talking about happy retirement. Like, why, in the name of Adani, was I discussing mortality with Tony Ontita, whose uncle is fighting for his life in a city hospital, and he (the uncle) is not quite 60? And did that send us on a contemplative spin, boy? Old age is a massacre. Because adulthood and adulting are curiously nonsensical exercises. One day, you are 25, graduating from university, happy as a 25-year-old can be, surrounded by family and friends, getting wasted in your bash in some club on the outskirts of town. You blink, you are 30, happily in love, wearing a matching kitenge with the love of your life, holding a first-born son, got that promotion, maybe getting stationed in the London headquarters of your auditing firm. Life is good. You blink; you are 38, divorced, bitter, with nothing. Or a single mom of two, a deadbeat who gave up on life. Or an ex-husband who refuses to heal. Who can't move on. Hata hajui jokes, like, are you not supposed to move on with your mzungu loverboy. Or you are 47, relocating to North America after realizing by the time Ruto is done stopping our cows from farting, there will be no country left for older men. In that discussion with Tony, we reviewed our lives. Tony said he feels fresh as mint. I told him, "miaka imenipeleka mbio maze". There was a mutual and private fear on our faces about what life is for a man as he approached 40. And nothing prepares you for these things. Parents are dying. Friends catching fatal lifestyle diseases. Divorces. Relocations. Displacements. Like your best friend's teenage son or daughter doing the unthinkable. You know, the big stuff that adults used to handle: death, weddings, children, truancy, teenage pregnancies, questionable sexual practices in kids. How do we process this when we are not finished growing ourselves? And then, retirement and death are upon us. Not too long ago, Bishop Chomba told us at a gathering that if we think living is harder, try dying. And thus, for men, millennial men, we have to think about retirement, with three possibilities in mind. Your loving wife and children will either surround you, and you will grow old together, bringing the grandchildren home and enjoying time with your naughty grandson or admiring the sheer confidence of your granddaughter. Or, you will be painfully separated from your wife, weirdly estranged from your children, who you gave everything to, but they still chose their own lives. Or you will be alone, maybe never married or remarried, and you may even die in your house only to be discovered a few days later. We talk about these things and how to mitigate them. Some say it doesn’t matter how you die; we all die. But I imagine a feverish attack, such as one I had not too long ago at 3 a.m. I was sweating like a boxer on the 20th round, fighting for my life, and I couldn’t even reach my phone, and neither did I have anyone to call, seeing as my nearest relative lives 69 kilometers from Kitengela, and I don’t know my neighbors. As men, we have talked about communities, about building homes near each other, and about investing in nursing and care homes suitable for our tall limbs. We have talked about investing in our families, wives, and kids, but the common rider is that we shouldn't expect much from our wives or kids; we just do our fatherly duties and carry on with life. Also, as you may have seen with your city-born cuzos, children raised in cities are cold. They are not overly sentimental about life and kinship. And thus, as we get displaced, as we move further away from our ancestral homes, as we make peace with death and where to be buried, more and more men are realizing you were born alone and you will die alone. It is OK to plan for retirement. You may be lucky, and the seeds you plant, you will reap off well. Sometimes, life laughs at our hollow laid-out plans. But whatever you do, never stop thinking about the kind of retirement you want, where and when. And for a man, from that famous letter I wrote to you, we will be mostly alone in our 50s going to the 60s, regardless of the circumstances. There should be no one to blame for how we end up. Just think about it. It has been 13 years since I graduated from undergrad and 8 years since graduate school. If I live long enough, Alhamdulillah, I will be in the retirement zone in another 13 years. It is not really scary. It is just anticlimactic. But as we cheat ourselves, young is as young feels. Happy Jamhuri Day.

Applying for jobs via email is common, but many people don’t know the correct format or what to write. If you’re currently job hunting or plan to be, read on for tips to craft a standout email that grabs attention and boosts your chances of success. 1. Email Subject Your email subject line is the first thing the recruiter sees, so make it clear and professional. Avoid vague or generic subject lines. ✅ Example: Application for the [Job Title] Vacancy – [Your Name] This format clearly states the purpose of your email and includes your name for easy identification. 2. Greetings Avoid generic greetings like: ❌ "Dear Sir/Madam" ❌ "To Whom It May Concern" Instead, go the extra mile to personalize your email. Research the hiring manager’s name using LinkedIn or the company website. If you cannot find their name, use a department-specific greeting. ✅ Examples: Dear [Hiring Manager's Name] To the [Department] Recruitment Team at [Company Name] Personalizing your greeting shows effort and can make your email stand out. 3. Content of the Email The body of your email should highlight why you are a strong candidate for the role. Focus on relevant experience and achievements that align with the job description. ✅ Example: "I’m writing to apply for the [Vacancy] position at [Company]. I believe I’m a great fit for the role as I have [X] years of experience helping [Type of Company or Industry] achieve [Specific Results]. One of my key achievements includes [Measurable Result], which I believe is highly relevant to the [Job Title] position." This approach succinctly communicates your qualifications and connects them to the role, making it easy for the recruiter to see your value. 4. Attachments and a Call to Action (CTA) Let the recruiter know that you’ve attached your resume and include a clear CTA to encourage further engagement. ✅ Example: "I have attached my resume for your consideration. I would be happy to discuss my application further and can be reached at [Your Phone Number]. Please let me know if you’re available for a quick chat this week." This step ensures your application is complete and prompts the recruiter to take the next step. 5. Closing and Signature End your email professionally with a proper signature. Include: Your full name Email address Phone number LinkedIn profile URL Having your LinkedIn link is especially crucial, as it allows the recruiter to quickly access more details about your professional background. ✅ Example Signature: Best regards, [Your Full Name] [Your Email Address] [Your Phone Number] [Your LinkedIn URL]* Checklist Before Sending 1. Spelling and Grammar: Double-check your email for any errors. 2. Attachment: Ensure your resume is attached and named appropriately (e.g., [Your Name] Resume). 3. Professional Tone: Maintain a polite and confident tone throughout. 4. Personalization: Confirm you’ve addressed the right person or department. By following these steps, you can craft a job application email that is clear, professional, and impactful. Share this guide with others who might find it helpful and apply it to your next job opportunity to stand out from the competition!

7 CAR BUYING MISTAKES YOU MUST NEVER MAKE 1) Failure to Reasearch * Your research should be done shaped by various factors like Intented use, family Size, driving habits, Image at work or in Business. Buy a car that fits you based on the above factors. If you do lots of long distances for example you may need a diesel powered car or if you live in the city and spend lots of hours in traffic jams you may need a hybrid car. If you drive in a rough area you may need a car with good ground clearance. Lastly if you have a bigger family you may need a larger vehicle like a station wagon or cross over SUV. Your research should also focus on aspects like power, torque,Fuel consumption etc Your budget should determine which car you research on. 2) Buying outside your budget Work within your budget to have your desired car. Be realistic with your budget too. Cheap is expensive in the long run in the car business. Cars with extremely high mileage are cheaper than cars with reasonable mileage. What you save on a sale might be spent in the garage for many months. If buying on hire purchase save a solid deposit so that you clear the balance in the shortest time possible. A low deposit and extended repayment periods will see you default and eventually your car can and will be reposses by the showroom. 3) Paying with Hard Cash All transactions must be done through bank transfers and not Hard cash. Doing so ensurers transparency in transactions and reduces risk of fraud and con games from the dealer . Bank transactions can be traced to the date , time and place of transaction. Do not carry hard cash with you to a showroom. The risk of being robbed is also high once you have a few millions in your bag. Inside jobs are everywhere from Bank staff. You just can't trust anybody these days. 4) Buying without a Test Drive Do a test drive. Foreign used cars come without a warranty attached to them. For this reason demand for a test drive. Feel the engine, gearbox changes and suspension. When going for test drives switch off the radio and listen to sounds coming from the engine, gearbox and suspension. Drive it uphill and feel the picking power as it goes up. Does it loose power ? If it does chances are the gearbox is failing. Idle the car after the drive and look out for any misfiring from the engine. A qualified mechanic or friend with good knowledge of cars can assist. 5) Failure to do Diagnostics Never buy high end units without doing a diagnostics especially the european big boys like audi , BMW, Mercedes, Porsche & Audi. Modern cars come fitted with many sensors to a point some can detect your relationship issues and if they are making you sad. Most high end european cars can come with sensor issues and faults that can only be corrected by the manufacturer through recalls. You can skip diagnosis on small units but not on High end european units. I promise you tears if you fail to do a computerised diagnostics 6) Failure to check paper work & Mileage Ask for important documentation regarding the car e.g certificate of export, bill of lading, Import declaration form, Vehicle entry, logbook from the previous owner,Duty payment slip to KRA bank account, ask for the vehicle grading . if an auction sheet is not available talk to us on 0727497935. We will get it for you at an extra fee. Verify the mileage on the inspection website. Current mileage should not be far from the mileage in the inspction website. For kenyan imported cars the QISJ website is used(check out our video on how to verify mileage on foreign used cars) 7) Failure to Take comprehensive Insurance It is important and a Must. Do not drive out of a showroom without comprehensive insurance. You know the risk on the road and especially with new cars whose financial investment profile is high. Protect your hard earned asset all cost. Desist from Third party insurance when it comes to new Cars. Talk to us on 0727497935 incase of any questions relating to this topic

Americans are now having the right conversations about chronic diseases and metabolic diseases. — a conversation that Afrikans are avoiding because they listen to corporate frauds. "It is no longer a physical fight. It is now a spiritual fight." "We have sold our people's health to the devil." 8 out of 10 causes of death in the world are due to metabolic diseases, which are associated with malnutrition. Yet, the study of nutrition in the training of medical professionals is less than 1% of the medical curriculum. If you have followed my conversations here on X, especially about Folic Acid or Fluoride or even Statins, you will see a litany of anger and epithets directed at me from the medical fraternity. None of them sits down to think through what has been written and question the information in their heads. For example, 1. The foetal spinal/neural tube closes at day 28 of foetus life in the uterus, so, therefore, why would a pregnant mother be subjected to these useless folic acid tablets even after 28 days of gestation? If then we were to give the folic acid, then it should be 4 weeks before the woman conceives. This would make sense. 2. None of those faulting me about folic acid has spina bifida or cleft palate, and I can bet that their mothers never swallowed folic acid. 3. In my entire medical practice, I have only seen 2 babies with spina bifida, and in all, the mothers were religious attendants in the ANC. 4. I can go on and on and on, but truthfully, the modern medical system is a funnel for pushing prescription medicine and useless surgical procedures rather than helping patients. It is about profits, nothing about the people. CHANGE or PERISH This is Dr @CaseyMeansMD during a senatorial roundtable on tackling corporate fraud and lies in the medical system. #BetterTogether
