Very, very sorry to hear today of the recent death of Emeritus Professor Don Schauder, ex Monash Faculty IT and earlier Dept Library, Archives, Records. A wonderful, generous colleague.

Enjoyable time chatting with @GoldingFrank and @arjrama about how to improve recordkeeping to uphold the rights of children in out of home Care and in doing so working towards transformative participatory recordkeeping. Thanks @CassPF

An uncomfortable keynote from @kirstythorpe #HereWeAre2022. Which is good; we should be uncomfortable. Some very serious questions about control of archives and implications about giving up fundamental archival principles and practices.

Simon Froude, Director General NAA asks what has changed in archives practice since release of watershed Bringing Them Home report? I'd answer, in part, that we now have leadership from our vibrant young Indigenous scholars and colleagues #HereWeAre2022

Highly recommended podcast featuring @BarrowcliffeR highlighting just how unprepared archives (and by extension society) is/are for truth telling.
In the new episode of Narrative Now podcast @Ravn_Signe and I spoke with @BarrowcliffeR. We chat about changes to how First Nations narratives are collected and accessed in the Archives. As well as Rose's work with film, audio, and family stories. open.spotify.com/episode/1UZ…

Yes, especially on the real impact of CDR. I have 3 key issues with CDR: (1) it is more a Right to Consumer Data for business than empowering for people (2) it frames us as simply consumers, not citizens (3) it will increase exposure of (and risks) to personal info
