If Ireland wants to resolve drug intimidation they must adopt strict regulation & safe access. Anything less will fail to achieve the intended consequences to reduce harm/ overdoses, protect labour rights, safety, eliminate drug cartels that influence policy & launder money.

In 2017, @SimonHarrisTD promised no child would wait longer than 4 months for #scoliosis surgery.
Yet the proposed inquiry starts in 2019, excluding scrutiny of that commitment and the decisions made before then. @CarrollJennifer

Between the age of 6.5-7.5ish Harvey started dropping a lot of weight.
At 7 years and 8 months old, he weighed less than 15 kilos.
That’s less than our almost 4 year old now weighs.
During this time he was in and out of hospital with his breathing issues and pneumonias. Despite being in regularly and always being weighed, they never flagged his weight loss.
Nobody in the hospital escalated this and looked to address is. @Stephen63224725 had to insist they come up with a plan to address it.
Harvey didn’t really ‘eat’ food. He relied on a prescription formula that he drank to meet his nutritional requirements. He had at the time a prescription for around 30 tins a month. This was needed to meet his requirements for growth.
Did you know, that @HSELive don’t actually care what the prescription says and instead have a cap on how many you can order a month? Despite Harvey’s needs, the limit was 20 tins a month.
This had to be challenged and they did then allow 45 a month so that we could give him a concentrated version for weight gain. Look how his weight climbed once he was no longer being deprived of his food.

CHI told us she would have her hip surgery every year for 3 years. Then told us they could do it in cappagh.The years went by and no surgery appointment came. No explanation why we were waiting. Still children who didn’t need hip surgery had it done.

The whole medical history of this little child and his parents is a horror story. Is it any wonder the Govt don't want a proper inquiry and for people to see how they threat children.

On one occasion where Harvey went in to theatre for urological surgery, he arrived back to us with a very obvious burn on his leg. It was a perfect circle, caused by a cauterisation tool being left sitting on his leg while someone wasn’t paying enough attention.
Nobody from his team noticed.
@Stephen63224725 had to alert them and point it out and then they tried to suggest it was simply a reaction to a dressing. The urologist then agreed it was a true burn and apologised as it was his theatre so he was in charge.
How little attention must have been paid for this to go unnoticed while it happened and after.
The round scar was still there til the day he died.

Because of Harris and his incompetence
Harvey’s parents carry a lifetime of no peace.
A child was left to be slowly crushed by pain for years while empty promises protected those in power.
Another child just like him could be slipping away right now.

This does not end until families receive the independent statutory inquiry that was promised, with parents and advocacy groups fully involved, and until there is full transparency about what happened to children affected by these failures.
