The Local is at 7.30-8.30pm tonight on zoom - if you’re interested in Bramley & in a sociable way to develop grassroots activity, please pop in. It’s monthly. Tonight - the Bramley quiz, news from @WLDispatch and @Zoe_Parker on Bramley Acts of Defiance for @leeds_2023 DM for zoom
We were back at @BramleyShopping yesterday amongst the campaigners of @aplacetosit1 who are there every Saturday 10-11 to exercise the (government diminished) right to peaceful protest. We’re not asking for much, just some seats, a little equality, access to shops! @LCP_Group ?
Hey Bramley folk - where should this sign go? We’re looking for the most and least playful parts of this area. Who or where needs permission to play? Thanks to @griffics_play & @lovetoplay2021 for the sign and signposting!

Obstruction* update! @LCP_Group has ignored public feedback & instructions from Leeds City Council to replace 22 as marked on approved plans. @LCP_Group we look forward to more in the right places. You can lift lockdown for shoppers who can't use the centre now. 22*benchesplease

Great to see Leeds City Council recognising that @LCP_Group has breached planning consent and needs to put back all 22 benches where they are on the approved plans. It's odd that LCP put 4 in yesterday - in alternative places despite LCC's enforcement letter.
New twist in Bramley's 'bench gate' saga: Leeds Council tells Bramley Shopping Centre owners to reinstate removed benches #westleeds westleedsdispatch.com/leeds-…

@LCP_Group This is @GraemeTiffany "For some people the benches make the difference between being able to walk to the shops and not, they are a place to sit and rest. But they are also a place where we can have social contact; surely COVID has taught us how important that is?"

We'll be at #Bramley Shopping Centre tomorrow from 10-11 protesting against the removal of the 22 benches by new owners #LCPProperties. Please #JoinUs we're a friendly bunch, despite recent threats of police action by LCP. But remember to bring your own chair 😉. #Leeds
Hey @EvolveEstates could you get back to us on this? Any chance of a chat to try and resolve this - repair a bad relationship between the community in Leeds and one of the parades @LCP_Group squired this year? This would be easy to fix and win back the support of a community.
@Evolveestates1 reaching out to you as a Director of LCP Group. There’s some inexplicably hostile tactics from LCP - over some benches they took out in Leeds. I’m sure could be resolved easily. Can you ask LCP management to meet representatives? @EvolveEstates seems more evolved!

At #APlaceToSit we are #ageproud. Many of our members are older people, take this rather dapper gent. He uses #Bramley Shopping Centre, but he's not steady on his feet & has to take regular breaks. Please return the benches @LCP_Group #ageproudfestival @LeedsOPF @TTSLeeds #Leeds

Hi @LCP_Group we at "a place to sit" wanted to say thank you for responding to the email below by sending a lift engineer to fix the broken lift at #Bramley Shopping Centre so quickly. It's a shame the benches are still not there but it's a start. Thank you 👏👏👏 #Leeds

We are only 30 signatures short of 1500. If you haven't signed yet please do. Maybe get family and friends to sign too. Share with colleagues, pass it around in the pub, get your kids and their mates to sign it. #PeoplePower can restore those benches. ✊ change.org/p/lcp-group-resto…

@aplacetosit1 I fully support this campaign to bring back all the seating in Bramley shopping centre. i’m a Bramley lad myself and understand the importance. I’ll even put my hand in my pocket and pay for two bunches myself if needed: my radio show. On @LDCRadioLeeds – at Leeds, England

Great group..I never knew we had a community farm in Kirkstall! And don’t forget, anyone fancy trying a bit of mixed #walkingfootball, it’s on Bramley park, every Friday, 10am!
Great to hear about so much local good stuff at tonight’s Local - it’s on 3rd Mon of the month. Next one 20th Sept 7.30pm on zoom. Thanks @AdeleRae3 @KV_Farm @vickiejamieson @aplacetosit1 @YourBackYardCIC @WLDispatch and West Leeds School Uniform Exchange
Have you signed @aplacetosit1’s petition to improve @BramleyShopping centre, by replacing the 22 benches that were removed recently? It makes sense to offer free seating - to increase trade, reduce car use and improve health/wellbeing. Please sign chng.it/VfvYLyQMPm THANKS

Good to attend the monthly @BarleyCommunity online pub night and hear @AdeleRae3 talk about @KV_Farm: “an oasis in the middle of Kirkstall” which volunteers “have put their heart and soul into”. We recently visited the farm and were really taken by it: westleedsdispatch.com/meet-t…
