Baron's latest research identifies the 20 “Super Influencers” who most inform the policy leaders of the Nationalist-Populist movement.
"Departing from the previous generation of conservatives who focused on broad themes such as GDP growth, free trade, and democratization, the current group of Super Influencers prioritizes improving day-to-day conditions for average Americans who live outside of major cities. The intellectual heavy hitters among the Nationalist-Populists eschew global aspirations and focus instead on policies that achieve practical and measurable advancements, such as replacing traffic stops with roundabouts to improve safety."

What the New Right Actually Reads - A Washington firm analyzed 29,000 citations across seven new right institutions and ranked me their #1 "policy Super Influencer" aaronrenn.com/p/what-the-new…
Baron's number-one ranked Super Influencer on Nationalist-Populist policy organizations: @aaron_renn of aaronrenn.com.
The firm's latest episode of the Political Risk Brief outlines our just-concluded analysis of the people who most influence think tanks associated with the Trump-led coalition.
From the conversation: “[U]nderstanding who are the super influencers within that policy community is extremely important to understanding the political present, the political future, and how that future might unfold in the Trump era and beyond. And when I say Super Influencers, it doesn't mean that a given influencer has to be from within the nationalist populist right. It means that they are a super influencer on the nationalist populist right.”

Congratulations to our Baron colleague Jeremy Furchtgott on his important opinion editorial – "Reform and Open China on America's Terms" – in today's @WSJ Key excerpt:
"To willing partners in China, America should offer terms seeking transparency into ownership and supply chains, cooperation with foreign regulatory investigations, compliance with U.S. sanctions and export controls, and reciprocal access for American companies. Chinese companies and jurisdictions that meet those standards should be rewarded with preferential treatment in the U.S. market."
Jeremy's leadership of our firm's China practice has produced groundbreaking results for our public and private sector clients. Building on this impressive foundation, much more to come. wsj.com/opinion/reform-and-o…

Insightful research and analysis from @BaronDC20005 about the most influential policy voices in the emerging New Right/MAGA/America First space. No spoilers, but #1 both surprised and encouraged me (I guessed #2 and #3). podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…
“Once labor displacement triggers revolutionary violence, the pattern can endure for generations. Today’s policymakers should learn from this experience and consider measures to manage the looming upheaval in labor markets. Otherwise, the AI revolution might be of a very different and terrible kind than the one so many expect.”

Hillbillies and Hipsters: The AI Revolution
"Early evidence suggests highly educated workers might already be experiencing AI-driven labor displacement. While the economic data does not yet support claims of wider job losses, such trends could generate a new form of economic disaffection among professionals and creative workers, much as globalization contributed to disaffection among segments of the working class. This episode explores whether a “Hillbilly-Hipster” coalition will emerge from these shared grievances and how such a realignment would reshape American politics."
“The question we are going to explore [in this episode] is why these tensions are producing, today in a way they haven’t before, what appears to be the potential for a true break between the United States and Europe.”

NEW BRIEF: Brussels' Regulatory Imperialism
baronpa.com/library/brussels…
"The EU confronts a complex, self-reinforcing, and intensifying crisis. The boldness of EU officials betrays well-justified doubts in Brussels about Europe’s future. This combination signals weakness and invites retaliation, creating a perilous situation for the EU."
"Absent a devastating war, fiscal crisis, or other calamity, the United States will have the ability and incentive to compel an economic relationship that improves the prospects of America’s leading enterprises in Europe. If the pattern of the U.S. and China applies, the CEOs of the American companies today targeted by the EU will play a decisive role in determining the fate of Brussels."
