The end of the Megillah tells us that Mordechai was loved by most, but not all the Jews. Why was that? R' Yosef Kara teaches that some felt the entire Purim episode -- the threat of genocide -- had been brought on by Mordechai, when he refused to bow to Haman! This whole thing was his fault!
There will always be Jews who think it's ok to bow down to our enemies.
I am grateful that I know far fewer of them than I do of the many Jews who, especially post October 7th, emulate Mordechai and Esther every day and stand relentlessly and proudly with our people.
Happy Purim Am Yisrael!

Side effect of this deal: there will be no more "people on the fence" who follow what's happening and don't know who to support.
The terrorists kidnapped a mother with 4 years old child and 8 months old baby, held them hostage in Gaza for a year and 3 months. And now they are going to exchange them, alive or dead... Alive or dead. For dozens of convicted terrorists, who are in prison for m*rdering or attempting m*rder.
How deep has to be your denial, to still consider yourself a good person, if you support the terrorists kidnapping a mother with babies and exchanging them dead or alive for other terrorists who want to m*rder and kidnap more mothers with babies?

University presidents everywhere need to embrace this simple statement by Ben Sasse, President of the University of Florida:
"At the University of Florida, we have repeatedly, patiently explained two things to protesters: We will always defend your rights to free speech and free assembly—but if you cross the line on clearly prohibited activities, you will be thrown off campus and suspended. In Gainesville, that means a three-year prohibition from campus. That’s serious. We said it. We meant it. We enforced it. We wish we didn’t have to, but the students weighed the costs, made their decisions, and will own the consequences as adults. We’re a university, not a daycare. We don’t coddle emotions, we wrestle with ideas."

Just talked with friends in Israel. "We wait and we pray and we try to understand why the world offers so much support to people who burn kids alive in their beds." An old Bob Dylan song about Israel once banned on YouTube. youtube.com/watch?v=NVkqhOWD… @megbasham

Instead, Harvard is being defined by the morally unconscionable statement apparently coming from two dozen student groups blaming all the violence on Israel. I am sickened. I cannot fathom the Administration’s failure to disassociate the University and condemn this statement.

US forces have been targeted by Iran’s proxy forces again in Syria. In response to 79 such attacks in the last two years, we responded, carefully, 3 times. Understandably, we don’t want escalation. The problem is our actions suggest we fear it. To deter these, Iran must fear it.

President Herzog’s proposal is clearly a compromise. It creates balance between the institutions without denying judicial independence. Yariv Levin and Simcha Rothman rejected it. If they are so committed to democracy, why not hold a referendum on the their proposal and Herzog’s?

Wouldn’t it be great for America if a block of Republicans and Democrats work together to pick a Speaker to run a coalition-style government? A coalition allows the House to create policy from the middle out rather than the extremes in.

Not sure Israel has changed. The Bibi-led bloc won fewer votes.Just as the Democrats can win the popular vote and lose in the electoral college,in Israel a party must win 3.25 percent of the vote to be in the Knesset. Fall just short, as 2 left parties did, lose all those votes.

The Israeli embassy is a ten-minute drive from the GW campus.
But these bigots didn’t go there to protest. They went to Hillel, the Jewish student center.
Because it’s never actually about Israel. It’s about the Jews.
George Washington University - pro Palestinian students stage a protest this evening outside the school Hillel's building, screaming - "Israel is a terrorist state"
WHY are you allowing the continued harassment of your Jewish students @PresWrightonGW @clbesq27?

When the U.S. offered to evacuate President #Zelensky from Ukraine, he replied: “I need ammunition, not a ride.”
If that’s not leadership, courage and patriotism, what is?

Thank you, AOC! But if you celebrate the Maccabees' 2nd Century BCE victory over an antisemitic tyrant and their rededication of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, why in May did you side with today's antisemitic Iranian-backed Hamas as they fired rockets at Jews in Jerusalem?
