Have seen a few posts about the Melbourne Showdown meta today. From down under, many people are simply playing for best of metals. First prize is USD $850 and two booster boxes, with top 8 being $150 and a box, so simply making a calculated legend choice has far higher chance of paying off.

With how much I yap about playing Vex in Riftbound, it had to be done. Cat for scale.

I think the RC changes are good... with a caveat. Deckbuilding is my favourite part of trading card games. In a competitive setting, seeing people use data and build on that with creativity to maximize their odds to win is incredibly interesting. I love nothing more than seeing a spicy deck come out of nowhere because it's creator understood the meta and could turn that into an advantage over the 'best decks'. Whilst I love the best of system and don't want it to go away for RQ's, I equally welcome what can happen when everyone expects tons of decks like Kennen and Irelia and someone cooks up something incredible because of it. This is where real creativity shines and it's not simply down to who can execute the strongest deck's game plan like a machine for 24h straight. The timing definitely sucks, but honestly if I was an organizer and heard stories of mass collusion, I'd also want to eliminate that potential. I certainly understand good players who are upset about this because their chances of earning 6 figures just dropped a lot. As a Jhin enjoyer, I especially feel for someone like Jibbs who has been grinding it out on Jhin this entire time and with a meta full of Irelia, he will have a near impossible task to get into the draft contention if he plays Jhin. Can't wait for the RC!

Why are we arguing about which TCG is the best? What is this high school? Especially between MTG and Riftbound. They're both mechanically great and fun games.
