@yourfriendSOMMI mentions network effects like it’s a double edged sword: you want to come into an established community, but not SO established that the price is expensive. This is what #ChatGPT #AI has to say about network effects in #crypto

Walker: "I nearly bought a wool jumper in town. £140. Nice work if you can get it." Farmer: "I got about £2 for the fleece." Walker: "£2?" Farmer: "Per sheep, per year. Clipped it off her in two minutes, rolled it, bagged it, drove it to the depot. The cheque for the whole flock didn't cover the diesel." Walker: "Then who's getting the £140?" Farmer: "Not me, not the shearer. He costs me more per sheep than the wool fetches. I pay to have it taken off." Walker: "So you lose money shearing." Farmer: "Every year. And I can't not shear, or she cooks in July and the flies eat her alive. The wool's a welfare job that used to be an income." Walker: "Sell it yourself, then. Cut out the middleman." Farmer: "Not allowed. By law it goes through the board. Has done since 1950. I can keep a fleece for the wife to knit with, and that's about the extent of my freedom." Walker: "So where does it go?" Farmer: "Washed in Bradford, if we're lucky. Shipped to China, spun, knitted, shipped back, and sold to you with a label about heritage. By the time it's in the window there are eleven people between us and I'm the only one who met the sheep." Walker: "That's mad." Farmer: "My grandfather paid the rent on the wool cheque. I pay a man to take it away. Same sheep, same hill, same jumper in the window. Only the price of the farmer went down." Walker: "What would fix it?" Farmer: "You buying the jumper. And asking them where the other £138 went."

F*ck it. Once this update is live and we’re available on all major mobile app stores, we’ll be ready to compete with any mainstream crypto wallet on privacy, UI/UX, and fees. We believe our wallet offers a better experience than Coinbase Wallet and Rabby. We don’t track our users. No trackers in our code. None. Nada. We also make gas management, stuck transactions, and everyday use easier. Our in-wallet fees range from 0% to 0.1% among the lowest around. Just use @zkxwallet

🚨HUGE: CZ confirms BNB Chain plans for a NEW parallel high-speed Layer 1. The EVM-compatible network will run alongside BNB Smart Chain, connected through a native bridge, using BNB for gas, staking and governance. CZ summed up the approach: “Multiple chains, one coins.” It targets 200-millisecond blocks and 20-millisecond pre-confirmations, aiming to support high-frequency trading and real-time payments. Planned features include native account abstraction and onchain privacy pools. An internal multi-validator devnet is already running, with public testnet targeted for late 2026 and mainnet for early 2027.

Dying on the cross was reserved for criminals and enemies of the state because it was considered one of the most tortuous and humiliating ways to die. The crucifix often depicts the nails going through Jesus’ hands. This is not historically accurate. The hands were not rugged enough to support the weight of the body. The nails went through the wrists, where several major nerves are located. So if you can recall the extreme pain of hitting your funny bone gently on a wall (that’s because of a nerve), imagine what it feels like when a nail is driven through it. Another horrifying feature of dying on a cross is that you perish, on top of the traumatic injuries, through slow-motion suffocation. Because of the compression of the lungs caused by the awkward position, victims had to press onto their feet, into the nails and the injury there, temporarily lifting the body, creating enough momentarily relief to inhale and exhale. Eventually exhaustion would set in over the course of hours, and this movement became impossible. There are a few important things to note about the crucifixion. 1. Nothing about it makes rational sense. It does not make sense that God would murder his son. It does not make sense that his son was somehow paying the ultimate penalty in humanity’s place. The whole affair is fundamentally beyond our understanding. By the same token, Christians believe the moment altered the fabric of reality. This was a cosmic event. Because of what happened 2,000 years ago, *somehow* I am now free. 2. Other than the mysterious aspects of this, there are some practical earthly ways in which it is true. Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection became the best story ever told. It traveled across the ancient world with such virality that, just 20 years later, it had reached Caesar’s palace in Rome. Within 300, it was the Roman Empire’s official religion. The Western conception of morality — the one we all now take for granted — transformed, organizing around the inherent worth of every single human being instead of status, honor, social hierarchy, and brute strength. 3. Christ lived and died as a model of love. Whatever the practical earthly consequences, whatever the supernatural implications, the crucifixion is something to aspire to every single day of our short lives. It’s no easy feat to sacrifice yourself for another being. We have the opportunity 100 times a day, and we fail to take it, sometimes, literally all 100 of those times. The challenge and opportunity of dying on the cross is not purely a hypothetical one. What cross do you shoulder? How much pain will you accept for the benefit of another being, even and especially when they don’t deserve it? Even and especially when it isn’t rational to do so?

??? If someone came to you and was like ok the entire world is gonna get plunged into literally everyone being eternally tortured, OR you can undergo torture yourself for 24 hours to save them, are you telling me you'd refuse??

90 days? So… dry food, no heat, no running water, no electricity for cooking or to run the fridge… right before winter
You should be prepared to live 90 days with no outside support. No grocery stores, no electricity.

Joshua Michael found an access token on Flock's public website. No login required. No authentication. Just sitting there. He downloaded Flock's entire database. 300,000 device locations. 170,000 cameras. 130,000 other hardware units. 27,000 acoustic detectors. Made a map. Published it September 23. The Senate held a hearing on Flock the same day. Cited Michael's research. Flock panicked. Sent a cease-and-desist. Used a brand-protection vendor called Doppel to claim trademark infringement. The map said it wasn't affiliated with Flock. Doppel didn't care. Michael's site went dark. Then Proton moved it to Swiss servers. Now it lives on protonmcp.org. Untouchable. Uncensorable. Hosted by an encryption company in a country that doesn't care what Flock wants. The irony is crystalline. Flock left an access token on the internet. Michael used it to download their own data. Published it. Flock tried to suppress it. Proton said suppressing it is suppressing information. Which is true. The map shows Flock has 150,000 more cameras than they publicly claimed. Shows acoustic detection units mapping human speech across the country. Shows which police departments have access to the whole network. Flock doesn't want that visible. So they tried trademark infringement. Which only worked until Proton decided transparency matters more than Flock's feelings. Now everyone can see exactly how many cameras are watching their car. Where they are. Which cops can see them. Michael warned Flock about the exposed token in November 2025. Flock ignored him. Then got mad when he used it. The surveillance company that claims to protect privacy just tried to suppress the only map showing how much they actually surveille. And failed.
‼️ Proton is hosting a map of 300,000+ Flock surveillance device locations that Flock tried to get taken down. Researcher Joshua Michael says he pulled them from Flock's own systems via a token left open to anyone. Proton calls the takedown "an attempt to suppress information."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know

Millennials really went from spending hours picking the perfect ringtone and customizing every inch of their phones to keeping them permanently on silent and ignoring every call like their life depends on it. They went from partying until sunrise with people whose last names they didn't even know to canceling plans because staying home sounds better, then experiencing social anxiety when they actually have to leave the house. They went from posting every detail of their lives online to wanting absolutely nobody to perceive them. From surviving on three hours of sleep to needing eight hours, a specific pillow, complete darkness, and zero responsibilities just to function. From saying “YOLO” to saying “I don't have the energy for this.” Honestly, millennials have one of the most impressive character arcs of any generation. We have experienced both extremes of almost everything. We can be completely unhinged on Friday and cancel every plan for the next six months by Saturday. You can't overestimate us, and you can't underestimate us. We contain multitudes. Mostly anxiety, nostalgia, and a desperate need to be left alone. 😂

It’s funny, you always think about how many kids you ‘want’ to have in the abstract. ‘3 or 4 feels right. Idk maybe 5 feels too much.’ We have 4 little ones under 6 - our newest little girl’s name is Clare. I might have told you in a previous life that I only ever wanted 2 or 3 kids. But that’s not how it actually happens. Kids aren’t numbers in the abstract. The real question is this ‘would you rather have a world where Clare exists or not?’ And then it’s not even close. Of course. Here’s to as many more Clares as the Lord will give us.

As a Korean, I want to explain what’s really happening in our country right now. Our current president, Lee Jae-myung, is a fake president who won through a rigged election with help from the Chinese Communist Party. Our real president, Yoon Suk-yeol — the one who actually loves the Korean people and believes in freedom and democracy — is locked up in a tiny prison cell. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party, which has been infiltrated by Chinese spies, and President Lee are pushing policies that are destroying South Korea. This year alone, the stock market has crashed several times, and many young Koreans have taken their own lives. Like most of our cabinet ministers, the Defense Minister is also a Chinese spy. Under this spy-controlled Defense Ministry, South Korean soldiers standing face-to-face with North Korean troops have not been given live ammunition. Koreans only recently found out that our soldiers have been confronting the North Korean military with empty guns for months. Now they’re even talking about taking the guns away completely and making our soldiers stand guard with sticks instead. North Korea has repeatedly crossed the border and spent up to 10 hours a day planting landmines, yet the government — now controlled by the Chinese Communist Party — says nothing and tells us not to provoke North Korea. On top of that, the Korean government allowed visa-free entry for Chinese nationals, and a huge number of Chinese people have flooded into the country. This has caused a sharp rise in human trafficking, kidnapping, and murder. Disappearances linked to organ harvesting have also increased dramatically. They’re even planning to bring in 100 million Chinese people visa-free over the next 10 years — in a country of only 50 million people. In short, Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party are trying to dismantle the Republic of Korea, pull it away from freedom and democracy, and hand it over to China. That’s also why they’re aggressively pushing multicultural immigration policies. If you don’t want South Korea to fall into the hands of the Chinese Communist Party and radical Islamists, please share our voices. We’ve been trying for years to get the world to see what’s happening, but the global media almost never reports the truth about our country. South Korea is now 99% under the control of the Chinese Communist Party. The last 1% is being held together only by the U.S. troops still stationed here and by ordinary Korean citizens who have been protesting in the streets nonstop, day and night. Yet Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party are doing everything they can to force the U.S. military out and take back wartime operational control, so they can open the door wide for China and North Korea. Also, since July 7, 2026, a revised version of the Information and Communications Network Act (what Koreans call the “mouth-shutting law”) has been in effect. Under this law, people can actually be sent to prison for criticizing the government or criticizing China. Because of this, many Koreans who tried to speak out on social media or at protests have been investigated and jailed. Freedom of religion has become a luxury in South Korea. Pastors who speak out about what’s happening are being thrown in prison. The government is now saying that if churches get involved in politics, they will be shut down and all their assets will be seized by the state. Is this North Korea? No. This is South Korea in October 2026. Please, share this as widely as you can.
This is not Pakistan. It’s Seoul, South Korea. A lot of people don’t know this, but South Korea has one of the highest levels of immigration in the world right now. I genuinely don’t understand why so many countries have collectively decided to commit suicide by importing people from completely different cultures. I get that South Korea has the lowest fertility rate, but this won’t solve the problem. It will only make it worse.

As you read this, attackers are *actively* threatening our water, energy and food infrastructure. The average city only has ~3 days of food. Civilization is fragile. NSA: "This is not a theoretical risk - it is an active threat." xitter.cf/AndrewCurran_/status/2…
Regarding potential attacks on energy, food, and water infrastructure, the threat is quite real. Someone is currently probing infra and feeling it out, it is an active threat. Even a little preparation can be helpful, just in case. This comes from the joint cybersecurity advisory released by the NSA and partner agencies on August 19: 'The threat actors are conducting reconnaissance and capability development against U.S.-based Siemens PLC installations using Al-generated exploitation scripts disguised as legitimate monitoring tools. The actors leverage Internet scanning services to find Internet-exposed PLCs running outdated software or that are otherwise poorly protected. The U.S. critical infrastructure sectors most targeted by this threat activity include Critical Manufacturing, Energy, Water and Wastewater, Chemical, Food and Agriculture, and Commercial Facilities. This is not a theoretical risk - it is an active threat. Depending on the specific circumstances, exploitation of poorly protected PLCS could lead to disruption of critical industrial processes, safety incidents, downtime or equipment damage, compromise of sensitive data, compliance violations, and cascading impacts across interconnected systems.' 'Using Al to generate exploitation scripts represents an evolution in threat actor capabilities, dramatically reducing the technical expertise and time required to develop working ICS exploitation scripts and malicious tools. In addition, Al enables adversaries to rapidly leverage additional attack vectors and adapt to defensive measures. Threat actors can easily collect public information about vulnerabilities and weaknesses, find exposed and exploitable PLCs, and use Al-generated scripts to act on that information. If PLCs are exposed to the Internet, they are at high risk for exploitation. Threat actors are leveraging open source industrial automation libraries - specifically snap7.d11/python-snap7 - combined with Al-assisted scripting to create custom tools that mimic legitimate OT monitoring solutions. These tools provide read/write access to Siemens S7 Series PLC memory, configuration data, and ladder logic programs via the S7comm protocol.'
