LAS VEGAS FIRE HISTORY: July 5, 2005 at approx 4PM. kids playing with fireworks start the gym of the Roy Martin Middle School on fire. It took firefighters several hours to bring the 4-alarm fire under control. The gym was heavy timber construction made mostly of all wood.

Finished 3 days of PIO training for nearly 30 new Emergency Managers from across the country today. Absolutely the best group I ever taught. Their on camera interviews & press conferences were flawless. They aced the final exam too. I was never prouder, an excellent group!
