The #BeFree Youth Campus continues to demonstrate what is possible when partners come together to invest in young people.
Every visit offers stakeholders an opportunity to experience the work firsthand and see how their support contributes to creating meaningful opportunities for young people. ✨
@One_Namibia Executive Director, Ms Pauline Kahupi, hosted Ms Claire Williams, Second Secretary at the Embassy of Ireland in Lusaka, representing the Irish Embassy, one of the foundation’s key funders, at the #BeFree Youth Campus for a courtesy visit.
The visit offered Ms Williams an opportunity to gain insight into the Foundation’s youth-centred approach and its commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young people.
During her tour, she learned more about the free services and programmes available at the campus, including sexual and reproductive health services, psychosocial support, digital skills development, entrepreneurship and mentorship.
The visit highlighted how the #BeFree Youth Campus brings these services together to create a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where young people can access non-judgemental services, develop their skills and connect with opportunities that support their growth and future aspirations.

Happy Day of the Namibian Child 🇳🇦
Today, Namibia commemorates the Day of the Namibian Child, reaffirming our shared responsibility to protect every child’s rights, dignity, safety and wellbeing.
As President, H.E. Dr Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah reminds us:
“Every Namibian child deserves to grow up knowing that they are loved, that they are safe, that their dreams matter and that their country believes in them.”
Creating safe and supportive environments for children is a responsibility we all share; from families and communities to schools, institutions and Government.
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, to be heard, to discover their potential and to dream of a future they can believe in.
To every child in Namibia: you matter. Your voice matters. Your dreams matter.
Happy Day of the Namibian Child. 🇳🇦

Engaging young leaders and creating spaces for knowledge-sharing are important in strengthening youth leadership and participation in communities.
As part of their leadership development visit to Windhoek, the Lüderitz Junior Town Council visited the #BeFree Youth Campus for an engagement focused on youth empowerment, leadership and opportunities for collaboration.
The engagement was led by our Executive Director, Ms Pauline Kahupi, alongside #BeFree Leadership President, Godwin Januarie, and General Secretary, Hermanus Cloete.
The discussion provided an opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences and explore how young people can be supported to take on leadership roles and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
The Junior Town Councillors also embarked on a campus tour, experiencing the programmes and initiatives at the #BeFree Youth Campus that support young people’s development.
We appreciate the Lüderitz Junior Town Council’s visit and look forward to continued engagements that encourage knowledge-sharing, youth participation and the development of young leaders.
The #BeFree Big Talk concluded with a capacity-building session focused on equipping young people with the knowledge and tools to turn ideas into meaningful national impact.
Mr Ileni Henguva highlighted the role of the National Youth Council of Namibia in advancing youth development and participation, aligned to four key areas of the National Youth Policy: education and skills development, health and wellbeing, employment and economic empowerment, and civic and political participation.
The session emphasized that local ownership, skills development, inclusion and multi-sector partnerships are key to creating sustainable youth-led impact.
Ms Habani Munyungano from the National Planning Commission explored Aligning Namibian Youth Action with NDP6, highlighting the shift towards recognizing young people as critical economic assets and contributors to national development.
Young people were encouraged to identify specific development challenges, align their initiatives with NDP6 and the SDGs, and define measurable outcomes. They were also introduced to funding and development opportunities through the National Youth Service, National Youth Development Fund and Namibia Youth Credit Scheme.
The session brought the Big Talk’s theme, “Solutions Now — Build. Execute. Lead.”, full circle — demonstrating that turning ideas into impact requires knowledge, partnerships, resources and the determination to act.
