Christian Yelich personally invited 98- and 102-year-old WWII veterans Bill Wattleton and Sverre Vinje to Game 1 of the World Series. They were able to meet Christian’s mom Alecia, former Brewer All-Star Chris Capuano, and witness the Brewers win a World Series game in person. Thank you, Christian, for providing this incredible experience for two American heroes. ❤️

Repost and reply for your chance to win a #WorldSeries bat and baseball!

The World Series matchup is set!
Either the Brewers or Rays will win their first championship 🏆

ALT World Series 2026, Presented By Capital One Tampa Bay Rays vs. Milwaukee Brewers A spooky Halloween-themed graphic with the World Series trophy in front of an orange-hued moon with bats flying around in a dark night sky. The words "2026 Fall Classic" are also visible in the sky. On the left is a cityscape of St. Petersburg and on the right is a cityscape of Milwaukee. Text of both team name as well as "TB vs. MIL" are scattered around the graphic. Pictured: On the left side are cutouts of Junior Caminero, Yandy Díaz and Jonathan Aranda in road gray Rays uniforms and dark blue batting helmets. On the right side are William Contreras, Jackson Chourio and Jake Bauers in cream-colored Brewers uniforms and dark blue batting helmets.
👏👏
To all the “purists” hating Junior Caminero for celebrating his home run and then shouting “This is for you, Tampa!” Stop being simple minded. It was more than “just a home run.” It was for what we’ve been through after Helene and Milton. #RaysUp

HEARTBREAKING: A father who lost his son on 9/11 is desperately searching for his hat after losing it at the #Steelers game in Tampa Bay this week.
Patrick Siewak says his hat flew off near the escalators and was picked up by another fan.
The hat contains a special 9/11 memorial pin honoring his late son.
He is offering a reward for its return.
Please help spread the word and reunite this father with something that means so much to him.
💔🙏
Please help @Buccaneers ❤️🏈👇

Richie Palacios had a father who got all the way to Triple-A. The call to the majors never came, and he went and became a pastor instead.
The son got told he was too small, and ended up at a college program that had nearly been shut down for money.
Tonight he has two hits and drove in two runs, with a World Series on the other side of it.
Here is the whole thing.
A baseball family out of Brooklyn, three generations of it. His uncle Rey got 101 games in the big leagues and that was the whole career. Three of his great uncles played around the Caribbean.
Not one of them ever got to a World Series.
So when it was time to pick a college, here is the only thing his father told him.
Go somewhere you would still be happy if baseball stopped.
That is a pastor talking, and it turned out to be the most useful thing anybody said to him.
Because the big schools all passed. He was five foot ten and they told him so.
"I just used that stuff to motivate me."
He landed at Towson, a program the school had nearly cut entirely a few years earlier. His teams there lost about twice as often as they won.
Then a new coach arrived and told him he struck out too much and pulled everything.
In his first three scrimmages under that man he did not get a hit. Not one, in nine trips.
His next two hits were home runs the other way.
Cleveland drafted him out of there. Then his shoulder went, a torn labrum, and he lost a whole season. The next year the minor leagues shut down and he lost that one too.
He got to the majors anyway. Then Cleveland gave up on him and sold him for one hundred thousand dollars.
He has been hurt nearly every year since. A knee going headfirst into second. A broken finger to start a season, and then, after exactly one game back, a game he got three hits in, a sprained knee that put him right back on the shelf.
And here is the one that explains him.
He got sent down to the minors every single year of his career. Every year, until this one.
He started this season in Triple-A, the exact level where his father stopped. He only got called up because somebody ahead of him got hurt.
Here is what he says keeps him upright through all of it.
"That keeps me moving in the spirit and not broken in my spirit."
Now the honest part. He is not the best player on this team. One hundred thousand dollars is ordinary business, and Cleveland was doing arithmetic on a man who could not stay on the field, not being cruel about it. Tampa Bay traded a relief pitcher for him. Nobody rescued anybody here.
But his father spent a career in Triple-A waiting on a phone call that never came, and went and found a pulpit instead.
And tonight his son drove in two of the runs that are sending Tampa Bay to the World Series.
