It was my honour to celebrate the naming of Brian Mulroney Elementary School in Ottawa.
The new school welcomes nearly 700 students this year and is the first public school in Canada named after the late Rt. Hon. Brian Mulroney, Canada’s 18th Prime Minister, honouring his life, legacy and lasting contributions to our country.
Thank you to Mrs. Mulroney and the entire family for joining us to mark this special occasion. It’s fitting that a new generation of students will learn in a school bearing his name and be inspired by his legacy of public service.
Which part of “Protect Ontario” does this fall under??

Question for #onted teachers re the $750 Staples Bribe accounts - do you now need to purchase your own copy paper?
Are copiers machines now going to be empty and teachers need to bring their 30 sheets of copy paper with them to make copies of work for their students??
I’m glad @fordnation has access to lots of extra taxpayer money he can pull out within days for this nonsense!

For decades, teachers have spent their own money, and parents have been asked to pitch in, to help purchase materials for classrooms.
Our government is changing that.
Starting this September, every eligible elementary teacher will have direct access to $750 for classroom purchases.
And that’s on top of the classroom supplies funding school boards continue to receive, about $32,000 a year for a typical 500-student elementary school.
The bottom line: we’re putting more resources directly into the hands of teachers, so they have what they need to support students in the classroom.
New: In a phone call with me after U.S.-Canada trade negotiations collapsed, President Trump suggested the US had added conditions late during talks.
“That sounds like me,” Trump responded, when asked about Canadian officials' assertion about US late-stage demands.
When I pressed, “So you don't deny it?”
The president replied, “No, no, I don't deny anything. So no, they have to pay a fair amount. And if they don't pay a fair amount, we won't make a deal. That's fine.“
