Y1 had a very special visitor from Beamish Museum today. Hannah told us what life was like in the 1950s and brought some objects and toys from that decade. @BeamishLearning

Year 5 had a great start to the term, we had Mr Martin come and visit us from @Beamish_Museum to introduce our new DT project- Crank it up! We looked at different 2D and 3D structures and evaluated their stability. We can't wait to use our knowledge to design our own Crane!

What a fantastic day out the Year 8 History students had at Beamish! Victorian town, life in a pit village, Victorian school and children down the mines. It definitely brought our in-class studies on the Industrial Revolution to life! The students were excellent!

They took part in a Victorian lesson, toured the Pit Village and learned about the 1842 Collieries Act by considering different points of view, weighing up evidence and deciding if they agreed or disagreed with the legislation. Thank you to @Beamish_Museum for a brilliant day!
