I rounded off a busy week with an @ArtsConnectWM training session at the Wolverhampton School of Art. 17 teachers, from all kinds of settings, came together to learn about simple 3D sculpture.
Look what they made, from scratch, with simple materials. 😮

The Year 1 kids from Old Church Primary have had a busy week. Each child has had at least two sessions, working together in teams to create these four ‘giant insects’. I’ve been so impressed with them . . . Year 1 😮

A little plea . . . I've had a cancellation on Thurs 16th April. I'd booked 3 schools close to Portsmouth and was staying over, but the middle one has cancelled! 🙄
So if anyone near Portsmouth, S'hampton, Winchester area wants a day on April the 16th please get in touch. 👍🤞

Such a fantastic day with primary teachers exploring how sketchbook practice can be embedded in the primary classroom.
It's so rewarding to read teacher feedback & see that our work is having a positive impact.

I've had a very busy few days up at Old Church Primary working with both Year 3 classes. Every child has had four different sessions working on this large scale display piece. A 'knowledge' tree, with the school's four 'values' as its roots. 🙂

A great afternoon with primary art leaders from Central Cooperative Learning Trust @newartgallery
Over the year we'll be working together to share ideas, try new things in the classroom and grow art leadership skills and experience.

Brilliant day leading practical art CPD sessions with lovely primary teachers from @_bdmat
Lots of ideas and techniques for teachers to try out in the classroom. I can't wait to see what they get up to!

We all remember that teacher who believed in us✨
Investing in teachers creates an undeniable ripple effect - transforming classrooms, strengthening education systems, and sparking learning for every child.
Beautiful artwork created by pupils at Villiers Primary School Bilston as part of the @ArtsConnectWM Classroom as Studio teacher development programme.
Pupils visited the @newartgallery and were inspired by the stunning artwork of Yinka Shonibare.
