Always excited this time of the year, AND IT SUPPORTS SUCH A WONDERFUL CAUSE!
🚨 ANNOUNCEMENT! 🚨 Fresh off the amazing turn-out and support for the Clash of Champions PvP tournament, we've got something special launching later this week when we host our Halloween stream starting at 12 PM PT on October 30. Introducing the Lightkeeper Collection! We're bringing back fan-favorite Bungie Foundation incentives so you can snag rewards from the past while helping make a difference for kids and communities around the world. A rotating selection of classic items will be available for donation on Tiltify each month. Don't see what you're looking for in Vol. 1? Let us know which incentives you'd like to see in future editions! Our goal with the Lightkeeper Collection is to create a program that not only allows supporters to donate for items they missed in the past but also gives fundraisers tools to support the Foundation and work toward their lifetime fundraising goals outside of our major campaigns. Funds raised from this program will help support our work across children's health and well-being, humanitarian aid and inclusion, diversity & equity. You will help us grow our network of Little Lights hospitals, make more Make-A-Wish kids’ dreams a reality and allow our humanitarian partners to be on the ground quicker to serve communities in the wake of disaster. Lightkeeper Collection Volume 1 will be available for donation via Tiltify starting at 12 PM PT on 10/30 and run through 11/30 at 11:59 PM PT. Volume 2 will launch with a new slate of fan-favorite incentives for donation on 12/1 at 10 AM PT. As with everything we do, this will be community led, so if there's an incentive you think we should prioritize bringing back or something we could do to enhance this program, please give us a shout. Our work is made possible by the amazing generosity of this community, and we want to work in collaboration with you all to continue to grow our impact ❤️

HotDrop is hiring 🔥 We’re building the social app for streamers and their communities, and we need someone to own our X, TikTok & Instagram (Reddit’s a bonus). You live in gaming and creator culture. You’re funny, creative, and know what makes people stop scrolling. Part-time. Paid. Room to grow into equity. Reply or DM with one thing you’ve made. Show us, don’t tell us. 👀

Catching up on all this. On vacation with the wife and son. So here’s where I am. GCX was an event built on community. From my perspective this looks like we got investment and changed our tone. That will not fly from my end. @kevinxvision has set up a meeting on Monday to speak with artists (he’s been out of town all week) to come to a solution while also investigating why the fuck a valued member of our community felt slighted. I’m not even sure where when or how this shift happened. I’m not even in a place to make an executive decision. But I will be an absolute thorn until our community trusts they are the reason we exist.
I cannot tell you how much it pains me to say this. As things currently stand, I will not be exhibiting at or attending GCX in 2027 or the indefinite future. The event has restructured their pricing and is eliminating the option to purchase a large booth for artist alley (eliminating a discount that we did not know we had), raising the cost of my booth footprint (same case for @bansheebotpete and @RazorsEdgeRaz ) for the last few years by over 200%. Artists with smaller booths are also seeing hundreds of dollars in service downgrades. While asking for clarification and seeking solutions, we have been treated with a baffling amount of disrespect by an employee of the show (to be clear, this is not directed at Shane, who has always advocated for artists and devs alike, he’s a gem). Veteran artists are being removed from spaces they helped to shape and then being lied about, having their character attacked. I don’t know how we got here. This tone shift feels like a turn from community to capital and it's hard to ignore. Between this sudden and concerning price increase and the failure to promote Artist Alley during my time as an exhibitor in any meaningful way, it just isn't an expense I can justify anymore. We aren’t even listed on the event page. There were no GCX-official promotional posts. I’m tired. Let me be clear. I am crushed. I am gutted. And still, I will never stop making Destiny art. That’s what this is about, at its core. This community means the world to me, and that passion will never leave me. With some adjustments in attitude and pricing, I would love to return someday. If you've gotten yourself a ticket to GCX expecting to find me in Artist Alley, I am deeply sorry to say that you won't be seeing me there. I'm going to really miss my morning commute.

Stand with your Community Artists-- these conventions are supposed to be mutually beneficial. Whereas it helps the artists having a physical spot to interact with us all and have a space to look through physical inventory, it also provides value to these conventions to have talented individuals like Casey and Pete and others due to the fact they draw those of us on the fence of going. If you don't take care of those who help make your event something special, why should we support the event going forward? Hoping to hear some communication from the organizers but in the meantime, my support (and that includes my money) are going where vendors are viewed as partners in collaboration. What's that saying? TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAMWORK (from a sales guy that works plenty of events each year)

It's morning flights like this, where if they looked for volunteers to take a later flight--as long as I got set up in a nap room, I'd take it in a heartbeat. 😅🤣😴
