"The Abergeldie" was originally painted above the fireplace of North Shield's Low Lights Tavern in 1956 by the late painter and decorator Eddie Rowley. His depiction of the trawler moored on the Western Quay adorned the walls of the town's oldest drinking establishment for several years.

- A 'proper' pub I've been drinking in for 30 years.
- It hasn't changed (apart from better toilets and a 'new' carpet)
- Good mix of people, decent beer and a CRT telly
- I don't think I'll ever get bored of it
