The largest region in the U.S. for sugar beet production is in the Red River Valley. Minnesota producers grew more than 12 million tons of sugar beets in 2021, a third of the U.S.’s total harvest! #MNAgAttachéTour

The U.S. spring #wheat crop at 345 million bushels is set to be the smallest since 1988 and 42% off the recent three-year average. Yield at 30.7 bu/acre would be the worst since 2002 and 37% off the three-year average.

The Gudajtes Family Farm at Minto, N.D., chose a “Soil Warrior,” a vertical tillage tool that works in strips, instead of the entire field, to help preserve soil moisture. @AgweekMagazine | #sugarbeets agweek.com/sugarbeet/7015283…

Feel like you've been struggling to find good spraying days so far this year? You're not alone. MN has had an unusually windy month that has made timely applications tough to come by. 97% of the state is behind "normal." @UMNExt @ppathelp #mnag z.umn.edu/20spraydays

I'm no expert in application technology but learned from @unlpatlab & @weedsARwild that spray coverage really matters for POST herbicides (appropriate nozzle & carrier rate [GPA]). High coverage isn't only necessary for large but also for small weeds ("gotta hit the target").

Beets are looking nice in the heart of the valley. Much needed rain over the last couple days will make these flourish. #CrystalSugarCo #sugarbeets #agriculture #crop2020 #sugar #madeintheUSA – at North Dakota, USA
