No surprise
The Ra'am party recommended Gadi Eisenkot to form a government in consultations at the President’s Residence. During the consultation, President Herzog asked if Ra'am leader Mansour Abbas considers Hamas a terrorist organization.
"For decades, we have explicitly spoken out against acts of terror. No one from Ra'am has ever been investigated for treason, endangering state security, or identifying with a terrorist organization. It is unreasonable to subject us to this test of loyalty constantly," Abbas said.
He added that Trump's 20-point plan for Gaza, which the Netanyahu government has accepted, envisions a two-state solution in which Hamas and all other armed groups are disarmed. "I support this," Abbas said.
Abbas appears to be moving closer to meeting all of Gadi Eisenkot's four conditions for joining his coalition. The only condition left is recognizing Hamas as a terrorist organization whose military and governing power in Gaza must be dismantled. Abbas just accepted the second part.
Btw, Netanyahu posted this video, but he left out the part where Abbas says Netanyahu agreed to Trump's plan, which includes agreement to establish a Palestinian state.
