My girlfriend got me an ornament of my first book and said "We'll add one to the tree with each new book you write" but I don't think she is prepared for 50 illegally published Mad Men fanfiction ornaments. I love you, baby ❤️

For the 17th year in a row, Lane Pryce ranks as the #1 Halloween costume in America among both men and women

There was a street festival happening outside and you could hear a muffled blast of "We Found Love in a Hopeless Place" playing while Victor Frankenstein lamented his creation. Great spooky show for anyone in the Baltimore area!

Been watching on loop and what makes it for me is the laughter of the production crew that sounds like forest fairies mocking a traveler who is only becoming further lost in their woods
This might be the greatest Who he play for of all time lmao a must watch! please don't retire Chuck!

One of the craziest parts of the Salem Witch Trials was spectral evidence. You could have the most rock solid alibi and someone who hates your ass would say "Yeah, but uhh I had a dream where you dabbed up Satan" and the magistrate would use a device to crush you 20 minutes later

Fascinated by repurposed old movie theaters. You can still see the closed off box office. The marquee now advertises milkshakes instead of Citizen Kane.

Entranced by Tod Browning's The Mystic (1925). Only 70 minutes long, perfect spooky silent film for a chilly October night.

Watched Matinee (1993) last night. When John Goodman smiles the world heals.

Crazy thing about reading Lovecraft is you can't even anticipate the racism. He'll be recounting the evil summonings that went on in a house and then say "Even worse, guess what kind of a family moved next door" and it's like, what does that have to do with the elder gods man??

First look at young Roger Sterling with his martini glass in "MAD MEN" prequel series.
First look at young Jason with his machete in the ‘FRIDAY THE 13TH’ prequel series.

Halfway through my 31 horror reads of October
Replying to @BenjaminCrew1
I'm trying to go crazy and read 31 horror books this October and not suffer burnout. Open to recommendations!

During the Hays Code era of Hollywood, studios couldn't release movies if they ended with evil winning. I watched The Bad Seed (1956) last night which maybe has the funniest example of this where the murderous little girl is just abruptly struck by lightning and the movie ends.

Something Carrie (1976) has over any other adaptation is the funky robot Mr. Krabs music that plays while everyone is getting ready for prom

Reading only horror for October so I took a chance on a book with a cool, scary cover but it ended up just being a normal novel with no creatures or demons

My genuine advice to writers starting out is that you can build a small but devoted local following by publishing a reimagined Dracula or Frankenstein set in your area. "Chicago Dracula" "Baltimore Frankenstein" these are titles that hold power locals cannot ignore.
