THOR #480-489 (1994-1995) - Earth's Mightiest Blog

Last issue, Thor left Asgard to go help raise High Evolutionary's latest group of god wannabees. But as soon as he returns to Wundagore, he decides to leave. After leaving, he wanders around Earth...

BLADE #4-10 (1994-1995): Series ends - Earth's Mightiest Blog

Salome is back. And Blade thinks Band-Aids should be sold for black skin. He's right about that. He gets a call from Bible John, whose house is impressive. John tells him that something wicked is...

Spider-Man and X-Factor: Shadowgames (1994) - Earth's Mightiest Blog

Shadowforce, a team introduced in this series, appeared exactly three times in Marvel Comics. Shadowgames #1, Shadowgames #2, and Shadowgames #3. So what I'm saying is, this is not an important...

NOVA #8-9 (1994) - Earth's Mightiest Blog

Nova goes up against a gang called Shatterforce to stop them from stealing a satellite. I've group-tagged them because they don't appear very often. They work for the Shadow Consortium, which will be...

Captain America Annual #13 (1994) - Earth's Mightiest Blog

Marvel's WWII Golden Age heroes, viewed from Red Skull's perspective. Interesting idea but, sadly, not done well.

DAREDEVIL ANNUAL #10 (1994) - Earth's Mightiest Blog

Daredevil, Shang Chi, and Elektra. This seems like a no-brainer. The Hand resurrects one of Shang's old, dead enemies and uses him as a weapon against Daredevil and Elektra. Shang is busy training...

Spider-Man: Friends and Enemies #1-4 (1995) - Earth's Mightiest Blog

Yet another mid-'90s series that is awful. A bunch of kids find some cosmic crystals that turn them into "Metahumes." They are rounded up and "cured" by Spider-Man and his "friends" Darkhawk,...

CABLE #16, EXCALIBUR #82, UNCANNY X-MEN #316-317, X-FACTOR #106, X-FORCE #38, X-MEN #36-37 (1994) -...

This event is best known as the launchpad for Generation X--a series that is probably #2 on my list of of my favorite '90s X-books (second to Peter David's X-Factor, of course). And although it spans...

MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS #155-158 (1994): NAMORITA - Earth's Mightiest Blog

Ooops. Sorry. I still think of you as Namorita. This issue ran an obit for Ericka Mitchell, Marvel's receptionist. I like that they did that.

MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS #152-154 (1994): Moon Knight - Earth's Mightiest Blog

JJ Birch's art looks a bit like the great Bill Sienkiewicz. That's a good thing. Moon Knight takes on Chainsaw and the Praetorians. This is a three-issue arc of 8-page stories, so it's really like a...

MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS #164-167 (1994): Man-Thing - Earth's Mightiest Blog

The Ted Sallis side of Man-Thing, which I don't recall ever emerging before, narrates a look back at his origin, adding some details but nothing we really need to know as readers. The narrative...

WOLVERINE: EVILUTION #1 (1994) - Earth's Mightiest Blog

Some kids living near a nuclear power plant get sick as a result of inadequate waste processing, and a "anti-nuke cult" arises who want to destroy all science and then rule the world. Wolverine,...
