While I definitely have a bit of FOMO over leaving #BPS2024 a day early, this comparison between my morning views yesterday and today makes it a bit sweeter! Spring has sprung in Chapel Hill 🌸
Hello from Philly! Excited to be here for the @BiophysicalSoc Annual Meeting and the opportunity to meet friends and colleagues and catch up on some great science. I’ll be presenting in the IDP subgroup tomorrow at 11:15 and hope to see you there! #BPS2024
We are having our lab birthday celebration on Friday, but I stopped to pick up some treats at my neighborhood’s newest bakery. Chapel Hill folks, Tonya’s Cookies on Elliott Rd is the real deal and their kindness knows no bounds. Please visit them soon!

Today marks 2 years of the Berlow Lab at @UNC_BCBP @UNC_Lineberger! It has been a lot of fun to welcome new lab members to our team and gain new insights about our favorite IDPs. So happy to be doing this in a supportive environment surrounded by people who make research great!
I am heading into the holiday break full of gratitude for the amazing team that makes our lab great! No matter how busy things get, we are always able to make each other smile and laugh. Case in point: our lab “holiday card” which has been cracking us up all week. Happy Holidays!
Had the best time with the lab today on our outing to Spring Haven Farm to carve pumpkins with some very friendly and feisty goats! I am so fortunate to work with such an amazing team of people and glad that we were able to get out of the lab to enjoy the warm, sunny day.
Calling all NC biophysicists! We are pleased to host the Carolina Biophysics Symposium on the beautiful UNC Chapel Hill campus on November 9-10. Registration is now open! See details about the symposium here: cbs.web.unc.edu
Please RT to help spread the word!
Flashback to last Friday’s seminar at @PLNU in San Diego! Had a great time sharing our research and enjoyed a lively Q&A session after my talk with a great group of undergrads and faculty from the Chemistry and Biology programs. Thanks to Dr. Jansma for the invite and the view!
Finally, here's the photo evidence that things have changed a lot since Day 1. It's amazing to see the space transformed into a real, functioning lab, complete with an unsuspecting Garrett hard at work at the bench (3/3).
