The way Zarah Sultana was treated by Good Morning Britain's hosts and panellists this morning was nothing short of appalling.
Ask tough questions – she's used to it! – but the sneering and constant interrupting when she was trying to talk about the realities of racism and Islamophobia as the only person of colour on set came across as completely callous and tone-deaf.

The media and political class is complicit in the far right, racist and Islamophobic violence we’re seeing across our country.
This morning, I experienced the visceral denial of this reality.

@YoureBardUk in Lowestoft tonight. Brilliant. Hilarious and also very clever. A fantastic group of immensely talented actors. It’s a must go show. Laughed all the way from the beginning to the end.

Saw the most bonkers Midsummer Night Dream (with a snippet of Hamlet) performed by @YoureBardUk (and a cameo from a couple of audience members). If you get the chance to go, take it! My kids want to go again (and to see Romeo and Juliet)

Well that was a very jolly evening with @YoureBardUk, 100 minutes of spectacularly irreverent Shakespeare-based improv. Currently touring, highly recommended. Haven't laughed so much in ages.

I think a lot about how many Jewish families were told they were overreacting 1936-1939 and how much that must shape their descendants. We have to find more ways to properly acknowledge that fear in the U.K. right now
