The newly appointed Somali Regional State cabinet includes seven women in executive positions, in addition to a woman serving as Deputy Speaker. This is even before the appointments of deputy ministers and agency heads. Congratulations to all the newly appointed officials. These women represent the entire community, not any particular clan. Their representation is an important step toward more inclusive and representative leadership. Wishing all the newly appointed ministers and officials success as they take on these important responsibilities.
