INDEPENDENT FESTIVAL SHOWCASE: Turning up the bass in the heart of Texas — Beyond Existence is carving out its own corner of the festival landscape at a brand-new location for 2026: The G Ranch in San Marcos. A weekend dedicated to underground electronic music and the sound system culture that surrounds it. Independently produced and growing with each passing year, Beyond Existence has made a name for itself by keeping things personal, putting the music first, and embracing the grassroots spirit that helped shape the bass scene in the first place. And they’re not cutting any corners when it comes to the audio experience. This year’s gathering features an extensive assortment of sound systems from (Sub)culture Audio, BASSBOSS, Texas Bass Culture, HSD Sound Systems, Funktion-One, and Paraflex — giving attendees the opportunity to hear their favorite artists through a variety of different setups throughout the weekend. Add in dedicated sound camps hosted by AFTRDUBZ + Motif Movement, and you’ve got a festival that puts just as much emphasis on how the music is experienced as the artists playing it. A little Texas hospitality, a whole lot of bass, and another independent festival doing things its own way.
