Time for a talk about Cam Ward
First of all, no one is a bigger Cam Ward advocate than me. I look forward to every game because of him.
But…. I think Cam’s era with the Titans is over. Things have not been pretty this season.
The MAIN reason I think it’s over for Cam is because the coaches do not trust him. Brian Daboll runs an offense for a QB to not fail. That is not a good sign for a franchise QB. Your will fail if your OC doesn’t trust you. Doesnt matter who you are.
Don’t get it twisted, I still think Cam has tremendous potential. But the OC clearly doesn’t feel the same. Brian Daboll from the start of this season has tried to turn Cam in to conservative short play QB. That is not who he is, he is a gun slinger.
Now you can tell Cam is uncomfortable and forcing it. The reason we’re seeing him throw INTs, inaccurate passes, and just not making plays is because he’s pressing it. He clearly feels like he needs to make something happen. Nothing about this offense feels good, it feels like a miracle to move the ball.
Cam threw 1 int over 8 weeks last year. He throws one almost every game now.
The receivers around Cam have been very inconsistent. The Titans lead the NFL in drops but fans don’t care as all the attention is on Cam. So Cam has to over compensate for that, which isn’t working.
Brian Daboll has ruined Cam’s development. This gimicky conservative offense has stopped cams growth.
Unless a miracle happens, I think it’s all but over for one of my fav players we’ve ever drafted.
Only way I change my mind is if Brian Daboll gets fired.
I hope Cam Ward ends up in a better situation like JJ McCarthy.
