Everyone wants AI to be smart enough to be a lawyer and dumb enough that nobody's responsible when it's wrong.

A strange new luddite group has appeared
r/opensource just banned any project that uses AI. By their own rule, that means the biggest open source project of all time, Linux, is now banned too. The kernel already accepts AI-assisted code. This is the real AI psychosis.

Just tried this. Do not recommend.
messaging my wife a link containing proof of her husband cheating on her from an anonymous instagram account and then when she clicks on it texting her to let her know she failed the family phishing test and she has to retake my cybersecurity course

Chamath is right. Bitcoin will get hacked by AI agents. That’s why I keep a large hoard of cash in my Chase bank account. There’s no way an AI will be able to hack that.

We keep asking whether AI "really" understands. Nobody asks that about lawyers, and we hold lawyers responsible anyway. Maybe responsibility was never about understanding?

Toronto had to lock the comments
New 30 km/h area speed limit signs will be posted at neighbourhood entry and exit points. Once you enter a signed area, the 30 km/h speed limit applies throughout the local road network until you leave that area. Slower speeds help reduce the risk of serious collisions and make neighbourhood streets safer. Learn more about the change: toronto.ca/LocalSpeed

Hey siri, access my entire bank account with full permissions. I wana check my balance.
🇺🇸 Big U.S. banks are finding AI bots inside customer accounts that the banks never authorized. These are AI agents, tools that can log in and handle tasks for you, and lots of people already use them that way on websites every day. The worrying part is that some of them reportedly tried to do things customers apparently never asked for. JPMorgan, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo are among the banks now rushing to get them under control. Banks spent decades building walls against hackers, and now the trouble might be the helper customers let in themselves. Source: Axios / Writer: Daniyal

Do this
Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.

NEW: President Trump launches an anti-fraud program that will give Americans a 1% commission on the money they find in fraud. A $1 billion fraud discovery, for example, would net someone $10,000,000. "If you turn somebody in and you, let's say, report and you find a billion dollars, we are giving a commission to that person of 1%," Trump said. "It's a lot of money. And if it's 10 billion, 200 billion, 400 billion, we are giving a 1% commission to that person." Nick Shirley will become the first person to benefit from the program. He will be given a $10,000 check. "Nick Shirley has been at the forefront of the battle to stop the horrible plague that has happened within our country," Trump said.
