Leeds pour an incredible amount of bodies forwards when they can.
They switch to a back 4 in possession despite playing from within a back 3/5 base without the ball.
Justin moves to right back so they form a 4-3-3. From here Justin + Bogle operate on different lines, Okafor + Gudmundsson do the same, Stach plays close to Calvert-Lewin with Tanaka in a role where he has license to drop and influence the build-up but also often joins the attack.
It means they can get up to 7 bodies attacking the box at times.
Daniel Farke has created a team that are a complete menace to face:
Defensively, they press man-to-man from the goal kick and defend in a compact 5-4-1 in open play whilst always trying to lock on man-to-man high on back passes.
With the ball, they have the technical quality to play out from the back but if you are aggressive they can play direct to Calvert-Lewin. They are also dynamic tactically with their build-up in open play because Ampadu and Tanaka often drop outside the lines or into the first line which makes them unpredictable and hard to press.
As a team they have so many willing runners and energy + physicality that it makes them a nightmare to manage defensively with the amount of off-ball running but also the competitiveness and tenacity they have in duels is off the charts.
Combine that with their set-piece prowess and long-throws which kill the flow of games and are incredibly hard to clear…
Yeah, Leeds are a European threat 💯
They won't be in any danger of relegation this season.

🚨Cardiff's head analyst Matthew Jenkins has left the club for Premier League side Leeds United.
Jenkins had been at Cardiff eight years and drew huge praise from Brian Barry-Murphy last year, with the manager saying he had been 'blown away' by his work.
