Just 2 deputies in a small Texas town have facilitated 200 deportations, 10% of the town's population. This is thanks to the 287(g) Task Force Model. Before Trump took office last year, 0 agencies had a task force agreement with ICE. Now, more than 1,900 agencies have joined.

Some Christians are so anti-illegal immigration that they seem to have forgotten that all laws (including immigration laws!) should be good, just, and necessary! Imagine that the U.S. made a law that if you file your taxes a day late, you'll be executed. Even if you were to 1/

Everyone has the courage to condemn birthright citizenship, but do we have the courage to call for the end of marriage to an American being enough to suddenly be regarded as one?
Replying to @megbasham
His wife is American, he can apply for residency through her Very strange if he wouldnt at least made an attempt to file that paperwork, definitely seems like there's more to the story here

My favorite thing about wacky GOP antics from the Obama era is that every single thing your insane conservative uncle predicted at Thanksgiving 2011 came true. - They ARE using your money for Abortions - They ARE pushing the gay on Children - The illegals/foreigners ARE stealing jobs - New York City IS ruled by Islamo-Marxists - The debt IS exclusively welfare fraud
Democrats: “Why cant Republicans be respectable & civil like they were in 2012 with McCain and Romney?” Republicans in 2012:

The major question in Brazil… At exactly 5pm, a code is supposed to be entered that closes and locks the voting machines. Once a machine is locked, it can’t accept any more votes. It’s irreversible. The Supreme Court extension was relayed a few minutes after polls were supposed to be closed and machines locked. So… which machines were kept open? In what districts were those machines? And why weren’t they locked at 5pm?

It's worth reminding everyone that the only reason Lula was able to steal the 2022 election was because Biden had threatened Bolsonaro and his allies with sanctions if they investigated electoral fraud, which the Brazilian president is empowered to do under the constitution. If the Trump administration threatens sanctions on Lula and HIS allies, they'll break and cede power. "They don't care about sanctions!" Actually, they do. They very much do. No mid-level bureaucrat or general wants to wake up and find his life's savings frozen and his credit cards shut off. Nor do they want to risk getting nabbed by Interpol on an international flight they had to pay for in cash. Brazil is deeply intertwined with the U.S. on a fundamental economic level. Even the Chinese have to play ball with American sanctions; the Hong Kong politicians responsible for the anti-democracy crackdowns in 2019-2020 can't even open accounts with Chinese banks. Bolsonaro didn't "cross the Rubicon" in 2022 because he was utterly alone, with the U.S., Russia, China, and the EU all in Lula's camp. Maybe the Russians and Chinese side with Lula. The U.S. won't, and the EU might be guilted enough into taking Trump's side. Eat shit, nïglët.
BREAKING: Brazil's election could be annulled, according to the New York Times. Electoral lawyers say Brazil's current situation is "extremely serious" and a "critical situation." The NYT reports that confusion over a last-minute voting extension by Justice Cristiano Zanin, who was appointed by Lula, could lead to the election being annulled. "This is an extremely serious, critical situation," said electoral lawyer Priscilla Sodré Pereira to the New York Times. When Zanin made the last-minute decision to extend voting hours, some polling stations had already closed and shut down their voting machines. They could not reopen. "Fernando Neisser, an electoral law professor at Fundação Getulio Vargas, a Brazilian research institute, said the election could be annulled if the margin is very narrow and it is shown that polling stations stayed open longer in areas that strongly favor one candidate," the NYT reported. Wow.

My father has never hugged me. Not when I was born. Not at my graduation. Not when I left home. That's normal for a Japanese father his age. Love is a full gas tank when you visit. A bag of oranges handed over without a word. Last month, my friend from Texas came to dinner at my parents' house. When it was time to go, he did what Texans do. He hugged my mother. Then he turned around and hugged my father. My father froze. Arms straight down. Like a soldier being hugged by a bear. Three seconds. Nobody breathed. After he left, my father sat at the table for a long time. Then he said: "In America… do they do that with their fathers too?" "Every time," I said. He nodded. That was all. Two weeks later, I went home for dinner. When I was leaving, my father stood up, walked to the door, and put his arms around me. Badly. Like he was assembling furniture with no instructions. I'm over forty. It was the first time. He let go, looked at the floor, and said, "Drive safely." My mother told me later he'd been practicing on the dog.

I'd actually argue that horror is the most Christian genre of film. Obviously that's not true of the torture porn stuff -- films in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre tradition -- but supernatural horror is often subtly Christian and sometimes very explicitly Christian. It's the only category of film where the supernatural, demons, spirits, exorcisms, the Church, etc, are consistently taken seriously. The only genre where the priest might actually be the good guy. Horror has deep roots in Christian thought and tradition.

New from NYT: By executive action alone, the Trump administration has accomplised the largest cuts to legal immigration since the 1920s. Muslim and African migration is down 90%. Visa issuance to Asia — including India and China — and Latin America has fallen across the board.

Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion. They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility. They were told it would lead to this and they didn't listen. I pray that France, a beautiful country of amazing people, will stop this madness before more of its landmarks burn. And I hope Americans are paying attention. This is the future congressional Democrats seek for your country.
