You all may actually be surprised how often, when preparing a Bible study, a pastor is confronted with a moment where he is tempted to use Scripture out of context because it will “preach good.”
Every pastor needs to have this rule firmly in their mind. Never use a Bible verse out of context. Not even if it “preaches good.”
Using Scripture in violation of its own context actually trains your congregation to be in the habit of doing the same. And you can’t imagine the potential harm that can ultimately cause.
