Haley Stevens first leaked that she and Abdul were no longer communicating, then that her fiancé was endorsing Rogers, before going on CNN to set conditions she knew Abdul wouldn’t meet. She needed a narrative to justify pulling her endorsement. Now the media can frame it as her withdrawing support because Abdul refused to condemn the ads, rather than examining the apparent effort to undermine his campaign and benefit Mike Rogers.
